UPDATE: I actually received my payment. I received a check in the mail around October 25th. This thread is to show anyone that if they try and take the money YOU earned, DO NOT let them. Fight for it.

They pay, so, I'm gonna use them.
Don't get too happy too quickly. With Hostgator you didn't earn anything until you actually have the money in your account.

I'm sorry, I don't follow?
I know it's sorted now, but this could have been the cause.
Maybe the domain she had was a dropped domain and the previous owner had used Hostgator.
For anyone in the future, you could ask Hostgator to compare their records to the domains current registration dates and this would show them if it was the case.
Just a thought...

I hadn't really considered that. But the reason I didn't was because it was her companies name. I cannot tell you what it was but trust me on this, it was too unique to be chosen before.

F*(* Hostgator they keep blocking public access to my servers and shutting down my sites. Even accounts with just baic wp default installed b/c they say I am not running wp-super-cache. Their SEO Hosting is a huge joke and a rip off. I'll never use them for anything again.

op there affiliate system is one of the most shaving one, what do you think they offer coupons and those high commissions for? they know how to reap it off ;D never promote them in my opinionalthough there hosting is very reliable
You can still get piad by them. Every affiliate system has some form of shaving, that's just part of the game. You are right about one thing though, their hosting is top notch. Very reliable.

Thanks man, I appreciate it.
I didn't go directly through hostgator with their affiliate program. I went through Commission Junction. Hostgator is an advertiser for CJ and Hostgator tried fighting it and I proved my lead(s) to be legit. Their hosting is the best in my opinion though.

their hosting is fair, their affilliate program sucks and is suspect. i no longer do business with them. the first few months i joined, i made a few sales. then, they started to make excuses and reversed the sales.
after a few years and a healthy number of click thrus to their site, not a single sale was made thereafter - which i find hard to believe bc after 100 click throughs at least a fair number would wind up being sales.
the straw that broke the camels back was when they started replacing banner ads with those that have their company phone number on it. so the customer goes out and calls their sales team instead and affilliates dont get the commission. That was a fucked up, sly move on their part. i no longer host with them or am a affilliate with them due to lack of trust.
