Hey guys I have been marketing for 6 months but never jumped into SEO until now, I have decided to take my first stab at the beast. I wanted to tell you guys what my initial strategy to get myself started was. The keyword I am targeting should not be too tough, it is a product name which is still a fairly new product. 480k results on google and one of the top results has 2,300 backlinks on google, so it should be a fairly reasonable target for someone who spends 12 hours a day working like I do (im insane). My plan is fairly basic I want to make sure it would work the way I want it to. Anyways here is my initial strategy to get myself started. I have 10-15 articles unique to myself, with my keyword in the title and all over the article, it is very easy for my niche to have the keyword all over without sounding lame. So my plan is to manually submit each article to 20 of the top article directories, the articles will contain a link to my money page which will be a standalone site, and I may throw a squidoo or hubpages instead on some of them to vary it up. Next my plan is to social bookmark each of the 20 articles with UBookIT, I haven't gone through the list of sites on it but it has tons, probably hundreds. Each social bookmark will contain a link to the article, thus hopefully passing the link juice from each social bookmark > article > money website and hopefully generating lots of backlinks that way. Obviously this is just the beggining of my plan, which will include more methods. I just want to make sure it will pass the backlink juice on. Does anyone have personal knowledge of how it works? Also would it be smart to include a link to my money site on each of the social bookmarks as well? Or I guess since im bookmarking the article it already does. I just need some guidance as to the proper way to do this. Any help is appreciated, if I get good advice I will post any tips and methods I have used thus far, which isnt much but might help some newbies make their first dollar.
