My Authority Website to $100+ a day!

You've got the plan, now put it into action. Good luck bro

Researching Your Niche
It look me awhile to find my niche, but I found one! The reason why it took so long is because you are practically married to it for a really long time, so I had to find something I enjoy. This will be a themed niche website.

Main Keyword
The main keyword I have chosen has 22k searches/month, medium competition, and a CPC of 2.72. I checked out my competition in Google using seoquake. It seems tough but not impossible. I did not spend too much time with my main keyword because the main keyword is my long term keyword and it should rank naturally in the future. Right now, I am more focused on finding short term keywords to rank.

My tips on finding a niche
There are a lot of tips out there on how to find a niche. Other than looking at directory websites, I will tell you my tips on how I found my niche.

  • What are your hobbies?
  • What is your daily routine? For example, if you go to the gym, your niche can be about body building.
  • Take a look at your Facebook and see what your friends are up to. They might post pictures about golfing. Golf can be a potential niche.
  • Go to flippa and take a look at all the different kinds of websites that are listed. You might be able to copy some.
  • Check out websites in the BST section. There are a lot of authority websites listed already. So take a look at what niche it is.

The tools I used
The only tools I used were seoquake addon which tells you the PR of the website and Google Keyword Planner. Nothing fancy...

Whats next

  • Buy hosting and a domain
  • Research my niche and find a lot of short term keywords.

My Questions

  • What is a good hosting provider, I got hostwinds in mind. Am I okay with shared hosting at the moment?
  • I don't think I will be picking an EMD. I want it to be brand-able. My question is, can my domain name be gibberish? If my main keyword is "Photography tips", a good domain name might be photographycentralDOTcom, but can it be something like circleDOTcom or asdfDOTcom

Can someone help me with my questions?

If you want to be branded but still rank fairly easily, go for a partial match, so if you were going after seo, "seowarrior.com".

Update
I purchased domain and hosting. I am still researching my niche. Having a hard time finding low competition keywords. I want at least 20 keywords before I move on.

How I research

  • Search niche + forum in Google, and look at all the categories and FAQ.
  • Search your niche in Google and look at what your competition is writing about.
  • Search niche + (each letter in the alphabet), and see what Google recommends.

I will report back after I finish finding all my keywords.

Lazy Sunday again. Cannot find any motivation. Will resume tomorrow.

How important is siloing an authority website?

Never thought i'd see someone's goal, to work atleast 6 hours a day.

I'd much rather earn 2x that and work not at all :P.

Hello Axioms,

Your huge step of success is drawing near, wishing you all the best.

Little Advice :
Unique content without spinning and best heavily researched
Tool : SmallSeoTools - Plagarism Checker

SEO High Quality articles but try not to show hand by mass pings and seo all articles
Tool : BHW Guide - Bluematter, Kh0r etc.

Helping Hands : Purchase SEO Links once you are familiarized else identify a potential partner to aid you, a mentor is cool too!

Hey Axioms,

I wish you the best for your journey!

Some advice:

Social
+ Create Social profiles (Facebook, G+, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest). With tumblr, I recommend creating a sub-domain and linking them together. (http://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/custom_domains). Let me know if you need a quality tumblr theme. I have a bought one, and it wouldn't be a problem to share it with you. (it's called bloq, and I think it looks extremely professional.)
+ Link from your website to your social profiles
+ Every time you post an article, share it with original content on your Social Profiles. Make sure you re-write the text you share it with for each profile
+ Go to http://www.markething.me/ and create a free account. Go to the blackhatworld thread from the creator of markething me, add a review and add your name. I'm not sure if he's still doing it, but last time I checked he gives 50 free points per review :)
+ Use markething.me to create a few g+ shares and other signals. Just a few per article, like 5-10

Email marketing
+ Offer a newsletter signup for quality content. Create a X-Step email newsletter where they get like 2 emails a week with valuable step-by-step information
+ In the email footer, create a small incentive to connect with you on your social profiles. Something like "Want to know more? You can easily reach us on our social profiles" with links
+ Send out a weekly email with snippets of the last X articles you posted in that week

Forums
+ Dependent on your niche, I'd recommend to search for the biggest forums where your targeted audience hangs around.
+ Check their stats on alexa.com and choose the best ones you can find. Create your profiles and interlink them with your site and social profiles
+ Look if you can get their RSS feed and a place where you collect them. Look through the forums and just try to be as helpful as possible. NO MARKETING YET
+ Once you've established yourself in these forums (if you're somewhat active, you should achieve that within one month), try to help people and later point to your website, and tell them they can get more info there. Link to other reputable places with valuable information too, so it doesn't look like aggressive marketing. Don't overdo this... just keep helping people and add a good looking signature link once you're allowed.

Tumblr
+ If your niche is appropriate for tumblr (some good info on tumblr user statistics: http://www.businessinsider.com/tumblr-and-social-media-demographics-2013-12), get yourself a tumblr bot and auto-follow/like on a daily basis. Unfollow them about once a week so your following doesn't become too big (once you have about 1k followers, you always try to be lower on the ones you follow compared to your followers)
+ Post highly valuable content on tumblr. Try to think in terms of going viral. Something in your niche that can be meme'd or is simply funny.

Monetization
+ DO NOT limit yourself to adsense. You probably already have read the phrase "Never put all your eggs in one basket". Well, that's not only counting for traffic generation, but also for monetization. Adsense has a reputation for banning users (I personally have no experience with it tho), so I think it's a good idea to have backups. For example, when you write an article for a long tail keyword, research if there are any valuable (!) products to promote. Don't just promote one, but give objective advice on several different ones. Don't directly sell to your audience, but stay objective. Seriously, people love objective advice, even if you actually sell something in the end. Just make sure you give pro's and cons and do your research.

Well, I could keep on talking, but I think some of that stuff will already keep you busy for quite some time. None of those info's are anything new, but in case you didn't know them already, I thought I should share it. Let me know if you want to know more or need help with something!

Keep working my friend, it will pay off in the end! Just don't give up... ;-)

warm regards,
neocortx

I see nothing in your plan for link building...

If you are planning to build a website to 100$ per day without any links, you either need excellent keyword research + lot of contents, or you will flop. Even so, a couple of whitehat and legit links here and there are extremely useful, at least to jump start your website.

And sorry to burst your bubble, but as long as you rely on google for traffic, you will never reach a state where "I will never have to worry about any Google updates " no matter how whitehat you build everything.

Wonderful information neocortx, thanks a lot.

6/hrs a day is tough for me. I get too lazy and distracted.

Thanks for the advice. Trust me, I'm spending a lot of time researching my niche. I want everything to be high quality and useful. Would copyscape be a better Plagarism checker?

Thanks for the advice, and thanks for enlightening me about Tumblr. Keep talking!! Every information is useful!

I see nothing in your plan for link building...

Oh yeah, I will update my OP as my journey progresses because I'm a complete noob and I'm still finding out information as I go. There will be some link building. Also, I was under the influence that if you have an established authority website, ranking will be a lot easier. Thank you for the advice though!

How important is siloing though. Some people make it a big deal. I will be using wordpress and apparently wordpress isn't made for siloing.

I'll be monitoring and rooting for you. Thanks for turning me on to bluematter's thread as well.

Seems interesting, subbed.

Copyscape is better than smallseotools but it isn't free. Check out the pomodoro technique for your procrastination.
