Great and easy method! Managed to get two sales - 45$ - with three videos uploaded which is maximum half an hour of work. From what i've seen I can tell two things:
- add your link in the description so no one would have to rewrite the link.
- better use tv series than any events.
- do not upload all videos to one account. The more accounts the resluts will be better as you want have all your videos deleted because of one of them.

Great idea with the annotation thing. Makes it look like you tried to make it legit and looks youtube official. I bet conversions rock.
I wonder if this could all be automated. The videos probably easily based on a tv show database and ripped thumbs from other sites but I just don't know about the annotation.

The basic idea is an old one, but im loving the annotations and still image thing! Keeps time and resources to a minimum. This helps me a lot cause the internet connection in my country is not exactly too great for up loading videos! AND to the user it simply looks as if the video has been "locked" at that particular scene - everyone wins!
An alternative to using the still image would be to create a simple image in paint with a black background and white writing that said the same thing as the annotations. Then simply put your still image of the real clip in the centre of your vid. Now the user will see your still image in the thumbnail where the video is listed (so it still looks like real video) but when they click play they get a black screen with bold white writing telling them that the video has been removed because of copyright issues blah blah blah
Might also be worth driving the visitors to a simple landing page, and then using BHCB (or similar) to get them to fill out a CPA offer before they can watch. You could even embed the real episode from zshare or the like.

Why are you not able to register for clickbank?? You could always try YourClick<dot>com
But i would personally recommend CPA networks for this..
Unfortunately I live in a country that is not on the Click Bank list, , or even PayPal. Thanks for the advice.

what if you post an ACTUAL video... I mean, wouldnt that take the same amount of time? and it would be longer lasting!

I've been doing this a couple of months now, and it's bringing in around $100/day with very little work (I'm outsourcing). The key here is to stand out from the crowd of videos. You gotta get creative.. Also, the gtrends page is unreliable, so you gotta find trends yourself most of the time. For ex: if you know a big game is on tonight, then there's gonna be people searching for it. Same goes with tv show episodes.

You are right, do not stay with google trends, search out for the ongoing tv series and post the videos as soon as tv shows will be presented.

Youtube users are becoming a lot more adept at spotting marketers, so yes. The key is to give them compelling content.
