My 1000th post and some lessons I've learned

Hey, what happened when you got to 1000posts?

Thanks for this.

5) Ignore the haters and doubters. Your friends and family WILL doubt you. They will say what you are doing is stupid, scamming, pointless, risky, short-term so you just have to get on with it. The best way to prove them wrong is to make money sitting at home in your underwear while they are slaving away at their crappy day jobs that they all hate. Just remember that most people don't understand what we do, so don't worry if they don't get it.

Good point as I think the majority of people in IM, or just starting IM like myself, have very few if any supporters. I've just gotten used to all the BS they are spitting at me now. :D

nice lessons there.. I learn a lot here in bhw.. hope i earn a lot soon..

^^ I hate it when the people I outsource work to don't deliver what they promise mate, I can do a chargeback and win it or loose it, but I loose time and I need to take an effort to find another guy who would do the job right, and Im loosing time when I could do something productive myself. What would you recommend? How do I pick good freelancers?

Thanks for the great post! I'm just getting started... so this helps a lot! I hope that in a year or two, I too can write my own 1000 post, sharing my failures, and success too.

Thanks for this. Im looking forward to getting my IM edu here.

Incredibly inspiring post, especially for my personal situation. Thanks!

Solid advice here bro, awesome to see that you are giving back to the community and also encouraging other IMers to take action and not to give up! 10 points bud!

Wow, for some reason I thought this was just me. :D

Great motivation. Keeps everyone striving.

True !

I made some of my friends and family jealous when they saw how much ive earned online in the past 4 months, as they where going everyday to work on those crappy jobs , I made just equal a friend makes in one year at daily job!
But from where I am the poorest job equals 250$ a month!

And i have much to learn im just at the beginning!

This thread has been really inspirational. Right now I can say I'm moving up in my career as a IM. I mean I'm still at a low point. But I truly feel like things are getting better. I have two sites made. One is adsense site. The other is clickbank based site with no ads, and is based solely off list building.
Right now I no job and college dept. So i can understand why everyone I know is hounding me.
But on the brighter site I'm ranking #50 for a keyword with a little over 1'000 views a month and at this moment, I no backlinks. I feel this is a good sigh that the money is coming soon. I'm just building my sb list and i'm going to do slow steady blast at a maintainable velocity with low obl links.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this post. The advice was good but the motivation/inspiration was even better. I know longer feel like I can do this. I know I can do this. Thanks.

Great post, I think I'll print it since in this period I was thinking to write some sort of "manifesto" on IM Lifestyle for personal use (I'm the kind of guy who needs to have things remembered right in his face when downward periods start), and Meathead basically already did the job for me :D

Any updates from the author almost two years later?

Normally I hate when people bump 2 year old threads. However the first post is quite generic and still valid.

This was a good bump!
