[MUST READ CASE STUDY] Opulentos $10K P/M Affiliate Empire

What's up guys.
Opulentos here with a long detailed case study here for you. I've decided to segment this into bite sized parts so you can easily understand what I've done and how you can replicate the results too. It's pretty easy and I've managed to grow a handful of sites to over $10K P/M in combined affiliate income in just 9 months.

I'll go over everything including:

• Keyword research
• Site design
• SEO
• Free traffic methods
• Income proofs
• And more.

Let's get started without fluffing this thread up.

[Note: this content has all been pre written as I have compiled this all beforehand and updated my journey via Word. i will now post everything on BHW, this has all happened over a period of a few months so the timescale is varied]

Keyword research
In today's update, I have started the keyword research for my affiliate keywords and have found 7 profitable keywords using KeySearch and Mangools keyword tool. The keywords for my 1st website will be a Clickbank related product for a sport niche.

The keywords seem insanely easy to rank as the Google home page is cluttered with useless parasites with little to no link building, and the content sucks.

Now that I have a niche and 7 keywords all in the same category, my next step was to buy a domain name.

I didn't want to buy a domain name related to the Clickbank product because that would be greatly limiting. I feel the niche has potential to scale to other sectors and I could promote other products, add Adsense banners and promote Amazon affiliate products.

I've decided to opt in for a mini authority website for this project so I have bought a domain name which is brandable. I kept it short and have bought a .com extension for $10 on NameCheap.
I also already have a hosting server so I attached the Nameservers to my hosting account. The website is all up and is a default WordPress beginner site.

My next step is to create the website which I will talk about in update #2.

Setting up my affiliate niche website
So now that I have chosen my niche, my low competition buyer keywords and have purchased a domain, it is time to set up a website.
I decided to use my Elegant Theme premium membership to download the Divi builder as it allows me to create great looking websites. I used the Extra magazine theme from Elegant Theme and uploaded it on WordPress as well as all of the plugins including Monarch and Bloom.

These let me create good looking social media buttons for users to share the content and also let me create new email pop ups so I can capture emails from these users. Once the theme was uploaded, I created a logo using Canva.com for free using my domain name as the logo name. I made sure it looked good and uploaded the logo to the theme.

Once the site had these, it was time to set up the functional part of the website so I created:

1. Home page
2. About page
3. Contact us page
4. Blog page

These are the fundamentals in every website I use as it follows a similar pattern and does the trick.
I fixed the WP settings section by making sure the Homepage was static and the main page. The blog page was for all my latest posts to be redirected to.

For my pages, here what was included:

• I downloaded Contact Form 7 plugin for free for my contact page and added a little paragraph about how the users can contact me if they have any questions.
• For the About page, I added a little information about what the site is about (Informational site about the niche as well as providing guides and solutions to the issue people face in the niche)
• For the Home page, I created a long 5,000 word content piece on the niche and the 7 keywords. This was a generic content piece talking about what the niche is, what people face when doing "niche" and what they could do to solve this.

After this piece of content, I simply created a buyers guide for the product. I only focused on one product and made sure that this gets all the limelight so I made sure to answer these questions in the buyers guide.

1. What is product?
2. How can product help me?
3. What are the advantages of using product?
4. What's the cons behind using the product?
5. Conclusion

This was a 2,000 word piece which I wrote myself and took around an hour or so to make sure it was ready to upload.
Once I published this, my site was now live with a 5k home page, About us page, Contact us page and an empty blog page.

This is my 3rd update. Start from #1 if you are new to the page and want to learn how I started from scratch with an affiliate website that makes $10k per month.

Writing affiliate content
OK so in my last post, I talked about how I finally set up my affiliate niche website. I set up the home page. about page, contact us page and a blog page. My next step was to write 5 product reviews for the Clickbank products. I wrote 2,000 words for each one which totaled 10,000 words altogether.

These affiliate pieces of content were targeting people struggling with issues within the niche I was working with, and I offered a solution via the product I was promoting to them. Once done, my site now had 5 high quality affiliate content ready to be promoted to the masses.

I wanted to rank the website for specific keywords but this is a lengthy process so I have to wait for results. In the mean time I wanted to drive traffic to the affiliate website and see if buyers will buy the product through direct promotion.

In the next update I'll talk about how I started off direct promotion and landed my first Clickbank sale in 7 hours.

This is my 4th update for my $10k per month niche website journey. Start from #1 if you are new.

OK so in the last post, I finally finished setting up my buyers guide articles, my long form informational content and the rest of the website so now I needed to market the website to start driving traffic.

My plan was to do SEO but we all know this would take time to deliver results so in the mean time I had to drive traffic in a different way to kickstart sales and get engagement on my affiliate website. My first 2 strategies to get FREE traffic and sales was Pinterest and Reddit.

Pinterest method
For Pinterest, I decided to go the marketing route and create some compelling content and pins that look interesting. For my niche, I did some research for issues and solutions that people face and made a pin for them using Canva.com
This meant I had to create over 50 pins which took me just over 1 hour. Now that I have 50 pins, I scheduled them to be posted over a week and used the right Pinterest tags and keywords to ensure I drive traffic and get people to engage with the pin.

Reddit method
For Reddit, I decided to use some old aged Reddit accounts and find some niche subreddits related to my niche. I found over 10 closely related subreddits. My plan was to create some Reddit posts as a buyer looking to get some recommendations for a product in my niche. I asked what they thought of (insert my affiliate site).

I posted this to over 10 subreddits every day under new accounts for around 7 days.
After a week of doing both Reddit and Pinterest marketing, I checked my stats and I made 2 Clickbank sales for $100+ in total commissions. This was entirely with free traffic and only around 2 hours of work a day for a week.

It was not a bad way to start generating sales. Now that I had some sales in the bag, and it was a good way to check if my niche was a good selection for long term growth, I made a plan to scale this free direct traffic and make more sales.
I'll explain how I scaled this up for less than $50 a week and started to generate $200 per week in passive income in my next update.

Scaling direct traffic to make passive income
In update #4, I talk about how I used Reddit and Pinterest to generate traffic to my affiliate money pages. These pages are simply an affiliate content piece on why someone should buy the product. It includes a big "Buy Now" button at the bottom which has my affiliate link on it.

I used Pinterest to create 50+ pins which I slowly released over the week and this led to me getting over 100 clicks to my outbound link (my affiliate site page). This increased my sales and got me 5+ new sales for the affiliate product.
For Reddit I had to upload many posts on 10+ subreddits every day, over 5 times a day. This was a lot of work so I had to find a way to scale the entire operation.

In this post I'll talk about how I scaled my affiliate traffic.

I hired someone on Fiverr as a VA to do 6 hours of work. For 6 hours, this VA commented on Reddit links I told him to message, and I also told him to find 20+ more subreddits to create posts on.
After 6 hours, I received over 50+ new posts using 10 new Reddit accounts to diversify and add new traffic sources. I didn't get any traffic directly that day from the posts as some posts got removed for spam, some received down votes, but over 5+ posts received 50 upvotes and many comments messaging good things. It was at this moment these posts were getting clicks to my affiliate website.

I made over $300 in the next 5 days as a result of this investment on VA's to do the work so my work totaled to $50+ per day within a week.
I hired the person to do another 6 hours a few days later and post more article links for me and do more Reddit posts. I hired him part time, paying him to do 30 hours of work.

This caused him to deliver tonnes of work, and generates a LOT of traffic to my affiliate website. My website was now earning $50-$80 per day on autopilot purely from Reddit posts.

Now that I was getting direct traffic, it was time to scale to SEO and make more sales from organic visitors on Google. In the next post I will talk about my SEO plan, and how I built new links to the affiliate website in the first 30 days to help it rank for certain buyer keywords.

I've decided to post update #6 today for all of you following along to my $10,000 per month niche website journey. If you are new here, start from update #1.

So after getting consistent traffic and sales from my Reddit marketing strategy using the helps of VA's, I've turned my attention to long term SEO.

For my website, I found 7 buyer keyword phrases with low competition using Ahrefs and Mongools. Now that I found the keywords I wanted to target and rank for, I set up my SEO campaign.

Here was how I started the SEO campaign for the first 30 days:

On site SEO
On site SEO is very important. For those of you who don't know what this is, it is where you optimise your website by adding the right keywords, meta tags, H1 titles, alt texts, image captions, and internal linking between pages.

For my website, I started off by internally linking to all my pages via a hyperlink. So post A talks about the benefits of hiking (example only, not my niche). I have post B which talks about the best hiking boots for long term use. I would write a line of text in post A talking about how the right hiking boot is important for going up hills and then link this to post B.

This is done to all content on the website internally linking them together. This is one example of on site SEO and how it is a fundamental part of the campaign.

I also optimised all texts by adding the keywords in the meta descriptions, alt tags, and H1 titles to ensure that Google understands what my website is about.

Off site SEO
Once I did all the on site SEO strategies, it was time to move on to off site SEO. Off site SEO is all about link building. If you don't know what off site SEO is, it is where you point links from other websites to your website.
The stronger the link, the better your rankings. If a news website links to your website, it's a good sign as it is a big website with high authority so Google would think the website it is linking to is also high quality, thus making you go up in the rankings.

If a low quality website links to your site, it makes your website look low quality too, which could have a negative reaction for your affiliate website. Always try and find high quality links.

When you first start off with off site SEO, you can't go straight into big powerful links. You will need to diversify and show Google that many different websites are linking to your affiliate website. This is why the first step is to create free backlinks from web 2.0 websites.

WHAT ARE WEB 2.0S?
Web 2.0s are websites that emphasise user generated content. Think of websites like Tumblr where you can post images, articles and links.
For my affiliate website, I created a few web 2.0 accounts and created articles on each one, linking back to my affiliate website. This boosted my link count for the website and started the diversified profile.
Here is what I made an account with:

• Tumblr
• Wix
• Weebly
• Wordpress.com
• Steemit

These were the 5 websites I created my first 5 backlinks with. I spent a total of 5 hours writing unique content for each website, and pointing the links straight to my affiliate website.
Once done, I would now start with the high quality link building aka finding powerful websites and linking back to my affiliate website.

To do this, I had to create a plan to find these niche related websites, and then contact them to see if they can create a link to my affiliate website.
In the next update, I will show you how I did this, and I secured powerful links which took my rankings from 100+ to #5 within a few months for this low competition niche I chose.

Thought I'd end the evening with a new update for my niche site journey to $10,000 per month. This is update #7 so if you're new here, start all the way at the bottom from update #1.

In the last update, I talked about how I started my SEO campaign by doing a mix of on site and off site SEO. For on site SEO, I managed to fix all keywords in the website, add internal link building, add the right H1 tags as well as meta tags and alt tags throughout the website.

For the off site SEO, I started off by creating some web 2.0 properties, from sites such as Tumblr, Wix, Weebly and Academia to build links towards my affiliate website. This was a great starting points, helps with rankings and adds diversity to the link building profile.

Securing powerful niche links

In this update, I'll talk about how I secured some powerful niche links from other real websites to help propel my rankings, and start generating huge leaps in traffic and sales.

For this method, it involves some wit. Let's get started on how I did this.

Realistically speaking, no website is going to link to your affiliate website for no reason. If you're building a typical run of the mill affiliate website for Amazon, or Clickbank, no one will be writing articles on their websites and linking to your site saying "this is an awesome site guys, check it out!". It just won't happen. Most natural link building occurs as a result of a viral content being spread, or a very informative piece of content that can help people.

Affiliate websites aren't helpful to the point that they get natural links so we will have to try a new method to secure links from powerful websites. It is called Link Building Email Outreach.

BEST LINK BUILDING EMAIL OUTREACH METHOD

So here is a template I've used in the past and for this journey to secure some really good links. Use it and edit it to your liking

I work over at [AFFILIATE SITE], where we conduct market research and collect data for [NICHE].
We recently produced an infographic detailing a breakdown of the [NICHE EVENTS] and what changes you can expect over the next year.
Would you be interested in checking it out? I'd love to see what you think.
Let me know if you're interested, and I can send you the info graphic to take a look.

What this email does is make you seem like a genuine person and not a typical marketer looking to buy or get free links. By seeming human, these people are more likely to respond back, and engage in what you have to say and offer.
Of course this works better if you create high quality content on your website. Maybe it is best to create a new piece of article just as a way to draw in links. Getting links to the content will help the website overall with the rankings, and more people are willing to engage, and link to it.

That's all in this post. I've sent out 200+ emails in the last 3 months and got a total of 16 links from some very high authority websites. It has helped pushed rankings from #101+ to #10+ now.

Now I need to push these a little more to get them on the 1st page, and start to gain momentum with traffic and sales.

Valid point. I decided to segment it and make it easier for people to navigate through certain sections instead of having it all in one long thread.

I'll be posting updates more often as the time frame has caught up to where I am currently so as the pages get longer on this thread, it'll be easier for updates to be read with the current set up as people will know which posts are the case study updates

Here are the last two weeks earnings for the Clickbank niche website which I am currently generating through direct free traffic using my strategy. I will be posting all my income reports to be as transparent as possible when it comes to generating earnings through all of my combined affiliate sites.

From what year your journey is? 2021?

Because algorithm and google was different then.
I can do exact steps but its possible that I will fail because Google is screwing around.
And most of the things you wrote wont work anymore.
Because I havent seen a single guy / person who gave out working up to date money method.

Have you made any new site in 2022?
Maybe you can make one, make a journey with exact steps you did and so other can replicate with their own niche.
You dont have to reveal any urls and niche just start brand new site from 0 (from buying domain and monetizing).
And keep updated every week for example.

Just to prove that this stuff still works at the moment in 2022.

OK we're finally up to date. The last 7 parts of my affiliate case study journey were done over the last few months so now I am here in the present moment. From here onwards, every part of the journey is something I am currently doing and am updating as I go along.

My sites are currently ranking on the 1st and 2nd page of Google for over 20+ keywords and I am driving tonnes of traffic to my affiliate products and so far am generating $80+ per day. So far since July I have turned over $2,600+ from Clickbank alone as well as build an email list.

Building a profitable email list during my affiliate site campaigns
The worse thing I've done in the past is generate affiliate sales and let them disappear into the abyss. I could have built a massive email list from the traffic I've received over the years and built a sustainable income stream simply by posting 2x - 4x per month to my email list. However, younger stupider me did not think this clearly but oh well.

I've learned from the past mistakes and have started an email list using GetResponse early this year and so far it is growing slowly but surely. I have over 4,000 people in my list and they are growing at a rate of over 20+ per day.

Each person who gets added to a list gets sent through a 4 week autoresponder. The first 2 weeks are purely informative content to make them trust the content and my words. The last 2 weeks are a mix of informative content and promotional affiliate material.

I've honed this to the point I don't have to do any work with the email list and am generating over $2,000+ per month simply by people being added to my list.

How have I built this list?
I used an avenue outside of my affiliate sites to build the list. I didn't want any distractions on the affiliate websites like display ads from Adsense,or a pop up email list. I wanted the site to do exactly as intended and that is simply make sales. To build the list, I used Getresponse ready made landing pages using their free GR8 subdomains and built a Pinterest and TikTok campaign around them.

Since I wanted a list in multiple niches, I used Linktree to sort out the details and added the list to TikTok bios and the Pinterest URL section. This drove traffic simply by me posting 2x a day on TikTok and by posting info graphics 2x a day on Pinterest.

I did this over a period of 3 weeks and am now getting consistent leads without having to build any more informative content to keep the leads coming in.

During the last 24 hours, I published an email blast to my list and just turned over $1,500+ in affiliate commissions. I am ecstatic with the news and am looking to try the same sequence to my list in a week to see if the results can be scaled.
