It sounds cheesy but the 7 habits of highly effective people actually has quite a few good nuggets.

Get Things Done by David Allen
Getting things done was complete rubbish, one of the few books I've actually returned, it sucked soooo bad :l

I'd like to add two more to the list, definitely must-reads:
"The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho
"Crush it!" by Gary Vaynerchuk (If any of you are fans of matthew woodward, he's recommended his TED talk as his favorite once and magically everything in THIS BOOK, you can relate to MW's blog. So basically this is a recipe for a 10/k month blog :P)
"Steve Jobs" by Walter Isaacson

Inferno from Dan Brown and Tesla - Man Out of Time from Margaret Cheney

I like "Seven Habbits of Highly Effective Teens" By Sean Covey
Compared to 7 Habbits of Highly effective people

you must give it to your kids :)

Man, The Alchemist is an excellent book. Read it and listened to the audio book.

Interesting looking books OP, I'll definitely check some of them out.

Twilight series. It's proof that people will buy anything.

Hi guys.

Lets exchange our favorite, high-impact books on marketing and copywriting.

I'll start:

Breakthrough Advertising (Eugene Schwartz)
Collier Letter Book (Robert Collier, father of the dollar bill letter)
The Gary Halbert Letter (Google it)
Scientific Advertising (Claude Hopkins, of whom Ogilvy said: "No one should have
anything to do with marketing unless he read this book at least 7 times
)

Feel free to contribute.

Great list! I'm going to pick up a few!

Mind Control Marketing by Mark Joyner.
Carlton's Kick Ass Copy Writing Secrets of a Marketing Rebel.
Hypnotic Writing by Joe Vitale.

Ok, no offense guys, but Rich Dad Poor Dad? Why don't you try some Robbins too ;)
Read some actual copywriting books - Get yourself a comfy chair and dive into the classics:
Ogilvy
Caples
Collier

When you're done that, grab yourself some Kennedy or Abraham.
Then, consider signing up to some BusinessInsider trials and reading actual data - you know - the real world/happening right now stuff. When you realize advertising existed before these make-money-online warrior forum losers, you'll be able to sort the gold from the **** faster than ever before.

If you need some motivation, just listen to Jeremy Robart - his amazing courses "Think, Hold that thought, Complete" and "Learn, Start, Doing" will set you on the right track.

One more I would Like to Add: Internet Marketing a Day - Times Group. It's Really help full loaded with lots on information..

Twilight series. It's proof that people will buy anything.

...anything that satisfies a certain need, true.

I can't help myself, but somehow I feel like you want to imply that the Twilight books suck. I can tell you first hand, it's not the books that suck. Have you ever read one of them? I've read the first one and must confess, it's actually pretty good. BUT, the movie... my god. The movie, really, destoyed everything. I wasn't able to read the 2nd and the 3rd book after I saw it. The movie just made a degenerated, standard 'not-one-of-those-again'-bullshit-story out of something that really had potential. Nevermind.

A book I've recently read, really worth your while as a copywriter/marketer:

No B.S. Sales Succes in the New Economy (by Dan Kennedy)Dealing with what's the real difference between losers and winners in selling, it provides a lot of techniques, viewpoints and insights, that could help you reach the next level in terms of selling, no mather if you're a beginner or just starting out. After I've read about those... old but gold... techniques in Dans book, I've, again, recognized them everywhere. Even in Gary Bencivengas attemps to sell people his stuff. (And if the best copywriter of this century don't know what works, who knows...)

This book can take years off your learning curfe. I am happy that there are still guys out there writing practical books, with ready-to-use techniques, in opposite to these theoretical, "write a lot but say nothing"-guys.

I've just had a few scotchs, so excuse me in case my grammar sucks. Have a good one & read that awesome book. Peace.

Extraordinary Delusions and the Madness of Crowds - Charles Mackay

As far as copywriting goes, the only book that I still occasionally refer to is:
The Copywriter's Handbook: A Step-By-Step Guide To Writing Copy That Sells by Robert W. Bly

I liked "Yes! Persuasive. 50 scientifically proven ways to be persuasive" (Noah J. Goldstein, Steve J. Martin, Robert B. Cialdini) very, very much
