Must have WordPress plugins?

Ok. So i have just started a personal finance blog that I plan on making money with through affiliate commissions. I’m just wondering which wp plugins are absolutely necessary such as sitemap plugins, image optimization plugins, link cloaking, and any other plugins that you guys would suggest for a noob. I’m new to IM and I’m not asking to be spoon fed, just would like some input from people with experience. Also I’ve read that the jet pack plugin really slows down your site. Should I be using jet pack or no?

I personally use the Divi theme and page builder. It is relatively fast and their page builder is the best one out there. Yoast or something like it is also a must-have. I haven't really messed with Jetpack much. It's just too much of a pain to set up and doesn't seem to do much other than give you stats that Google Analytics could give you.
 
@Hayden Russell thanks for your input. I have been thinking about just getting rid of jetpack. I’m gonna uninstall it. I’m currently using Yoast but I think I’m gonna go with the alternative “all in one seo” plug-in. Do you use a plugin to compress images to reduce load times for your website?

@Panther28 how often is 404 to start used? Like how often do 404 errors occur? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I’m just curious to know if i should download it. Also curious as to what would cause the errors?

I use the Smush plugin.
 
@Hayden Russell awesome! I was looking at image compression plugins and that was the one I was leaning towards. Thank you so much for the advice.
