Multiple tumblr blogs under 1 account

So I created a few tumblrs 4 under one main account. The main account is starting to pick up a bit in exposure but the other ones seem to hold back.

I have different content strategies on them but I wondering if it could have anything to do with the way I created them.

- Do other people experience the same?
- Should I create 4 completely seperate tumblr blogs?
