Hello there!

What is your strategy on getting (or not getting) multiple links from the same website?

- Do you think it worth your time or would you always rather just chase new link opportunities instead of repeating?

- Do you treat different linktypes (PBN, forum, comments, profiles, advertorials etc.) differently when it comes to repeating links?

Note: I'm based in a smaller country, where the strong websites allowing UGC are limited. Therefore, it drastically widening my options, if repeating is OK.

Below are my own thoughts. Let me know, if you agree or disagree - and if you do something else entirely! Thank you, hope to get a good discussion, I think this topic generally is somewhat underdiscussed:

1) First link is stronger - subsequent links gets weaker and weaker (1st is stronger than 2nd, 2nd is stronger than 3rd, 3rd is stronger than 4th etc.)
2) For subsequent links target other pages for best effect

Disclaimer: I have not tested this and have not read case studies on it

Nope, dont use the same link on your site. The value of a link is greatly diminished after you add more than 2 links of the same domain.

E.g. repeating links has no effect, does not matter if you are in a foreign SERP or English SERP. Speak from experience, focus on building a good amount of healthy RF.

Thank you for your answer! Just to be sure - You think it can be worthwhile building 2nd link sometime (perhaps with the GREAT link opportunities), but never more?

Multiple links do help, but not spammy-like.
If you have website linked from, let’s say online forums by users, you will get backlinks to multiple pages with unique anchors. This is valuable

It’s more beneficial to diversify your strategy wherever you can; use multiple anchor texts, use links to multiple internal pages, post links on multiple pages and most importantly, post links on different external sources.

Well, i would lie if i say that i have not build links double sometimes. It happens from time to time, but in terms of really pushing your rankings up the ladder systematically building links from the same domains arent going to help much.

But if you have like lets say 4/5 links coming in from 1 or 2 high DR domains (example Huffingtonpost talks about your site in several different blogs) go for it!

Anything other than that looks just spammy, i have this with my PBN's sometimes. They link out multiple times! Category page, author page, blog post etc etc, the value only comes from the in-content link, nothing else.

Focus on building some good amount of high DR reffering domains and you will be doing fine :D!

Good luck with your journey man!

In my experience building multiple links form the same referrer does not help much, I try to focus on having more referring domains instead, unless of course you are getting multiple links from an extremely authoritative site, in which case I will gladly take the extra links from the same domain :)

Bottom line, focus on more RD rather than multiple links from the same RD.

I am using links from same site many times and it's working.

Wouldn't listen to people who are telling that 1 link per domain is all you need.
Look at other websites - domains to links ratio / plus more links from good domain (if you have some nice amount of links already) won't harm your site...

Thank you all for your response :-)

Seems like there are different opinions, which I get. I think I will continue on focusing primarily on building out my link profile with new referring domains, but build another backlink from the same domain one every now and then - From the websites I deem particular good value... And then from those websites maybe just make sure I build my links to different pages.
