Hi all,

Tried the search function without success.

I was wondering what is the best pratice as far as using GG Analytics with multiple sites or blogs? Say you setup 50-100 sites, and somewhat interlink them, isn't it bad to track them all under your GG account? (you're basically telling GG you own them all)

Are there other service out there? What do you guys use to track traffic to all your blogs?

Thanks

If you don't want google to know they are all yours, don't do it. Officially they say they don't use analytics data for computing SERPs or anti-spam detection but I wouldn't trust them.

Also don't use anything that has a footprint even if it is from other sites (e.g. no identical tracking codes) and especially AdSense.

If you do have AdSense on all of them, then go ahead and use whatever you want, Google already knows they're all yours.

You can use http://piwik.org/ for stats tracking

so how would you go with having adsense on all your blogs? Open 50 adsense accounts?

Also, because I forgot to mention it and it's important, if you don't have WHOIS privacy you're pretty open. Also, for links, if you plan to interlink them to boost your rankings, make sure you have each of the sites hosted on a different C-class as it will give more value to the links.

I tried Piwik but the JS tracking didn't work at all (I was testing a few months ago) so I stayed with GA.

I have them under different accounts (but one login email) so they're traceable only in groups.

I still kind of doubt that Google would use their users statistics against them ... If someone found out they're doing that, they'd lose 90% of their users in a day. So I kinda trust them. Kinda. :)

The way I see it is why take the chance?

So what if you had 50 sites and used 2 diffrent google analytics accounts, would running all 50 through 1 Adsense account get your adsense account slapped? If not how can one person have more than one adsense accounts?? I mean how could you cash the checks if their not in your name??
