Multiple blocks and domain migrations - Should I keep redirecting or start over with a new domain?

Hello,

We have a site that is blocked by government policy, so we migrated to a new domain with 301 redirects. The new domain led to a ban after the redirect; it leads to another migration.

At this point, we are wondering the following:

1. Is it still worth it to continue the redirect chain?
2. Does the link equity diminish after multiple redirects?
3. Should we stop the redirect and continue with a fresh domain?

Earlier, it had good traffic and 100+ keywords ranked for that site; now, it is very slow in holding the keyword positions.

Has anyone come across this situation? I want to know the real-time user experience in these situations.

Sometimes patience and cleanup work better than another migration. because Multiple migrations can make it harder to understand what's affecting the blocking and you said the old site already had strong keyword positions, just spend some time auditing everything before making another move.

Too many redirects can make things more complicated. Also, after multiple migrations, it's harder to find what's affecting the rankings. If the rankings are getting weaker after the redirect, you can start work on the fresh domain. If needed, you can also use aged expired domains. It could help speed things up compared to starting from a completely fresh domain. Just make sure the domain is clean, and if they're relevant to your niche, it works better.

I'd avoid long redirect chains. If possible, redirect the original domain directly to the current active domain....
Google can usually pass signals through multiple 301s, but repeated migrations add complexity and can slow down ranking recovery.
if the current domain is stable, I'd consolidate everything there rather than starting over with a fresh domain unless there's a strong reason to do so
