Have you guys ever gone up against multi million dollar companies in the SERPs? @ #3 and #4 for this high competition keywords and there are a fuck tonne of million dollar companies investing a shit ton of money in SEO, I look at their majestic profile and every week there are a crap ton of links made from high authority sites. I'm surprised how I'm still going up against them with my niche site lol. I'm going to eventually fall I know, I just don't know how I can fight back, I don't have that large of budgets to go up against them. Any tips? I think the only thing I can do is just keep building links, thats my best option.

Please don't suggest Negative SEO, you're a little bitch if you do.

Being a multi-million dollar company doesn't mean you have a competent, organized and focused SEO team. Otherwise, there wouldn't be much need for affiliates like us. Any serious SEO has gone up against big companies many times and has sometimes even won.

Don't let your size define what you can accomplish.

Thanks man, so very true.

I agree with @LordCameltoe
If companies with this large a budget had as much SEO knowledge as us they would start ranking for nearly every keyword lol
There is always gonna be free keywords, take advantage of it and bank. Don't worry what companies will do to you

Yes. Definitely have larger business that are taking up some of the top spaces. I'm interested to learn what people suggest as well

@neilbhabuta if you are in actual local business, there are only so many keywords that people search for. (city X service)

Amazon is a multimillion dollar company and you can easily outrank it

Build your own publishing network and fight back

That is a little complicated and a lot of money and time is involved in that.

Exactly correct. They can't be perfect ;)

Amazon is a multimillion dollar company and you can easily outrank it

But Amazon doesn't invest money in every single one of their pages to rank it...

100% agreed. Organized and focused seo team is main key for any company to stay on top.

one thing i've learned is that many/most large companies are not tech savvy and will hire whichever seo company places the biggest ads. there are plenty of big money corporations on page 10 for keywords found in their url and in their page title.

A lot of those big companies are are only in the serps in the first place bc they are so big and popular dr.G just default assumes their relevent. Obviously, there are most-certainly cases where there is bh/gh SEO strategies being enacted. I think there is a line ( which I'm to lowly to see ) that big companies cross where goals and profits transition into things very abstract to smaller businesses. For instance, do you think CNN is going to target keywords like 'nike shoes on sale' ? Naw, they go more for 'nike child labor rumors false.' BROAD strokes. Given, there will be a lot of cross over from companies that are high-authority; my point is just that their ranking, even in the case of direct links, is often not of the same motivation as most IM SEOs. BTW, no one should take any of that too serious, it's not like I'm playing in that league.

I disagree

As do I.

Exactly so authority sites will rank becayss they have high authority. But there good be next to no link building

I know the difference between an SEO campaign and when an authority page ranks...

Maybe of note as well is that large marketplace type sites will probably see a lot of seo work done by merchants registered with them as well.
What type of seo. For Google or for Amazon?
For Google that's possible but I don't think its that common.

I've been there and done that. I would never do it again. Fight battles you can win. If you insist on doing it anyways, load up on extremely high quality editorial links.
