Well... obviously they won't say "we bought a shitty company".
Maybe, they really know how to improve the product.

Interesting development considering what’s been happening to Semrush.

My guess is that there’s been a lot of pressure put on the Moz team in terms of exit strategy.

Semrush has taken things to a whole different level and competitors are now put in a position where their investors, no matter how big, are also under pressure.

This happens all the time with tech companies.

It’s kind of interesting when you hear news of the market leader being acquired or going public.

Eventually, the smaller players either consolidate, go out of business, or take a whole new direction.

This should not be a surprise.

Although Moz is quite a controversial company in the SEO industry, it is interesting that it’s decided to take this route instead of, maybe, being part of a consolidation.
