Hi, my name's Dan. I've decided to make a motivational thread aimed towards those new to IM. I'm not offering any specific method, just general tips that I am confident, if followed, will help you find success in IM.

I know I'm not too frequent to bhw these days, but I have been using it for almost 2 years, and I believe it helped me a lot in the beginning.

A little about me, I'm 23 years old and live in the U.S. I'm no IM guru or anything, in my opinion im still a newb, so if any other experienced IM'ers want to add to this, feel free.
Currently I make between 2k-3k/week through a few different methods, mainly ppc and social media. I believe as you get better, its important to diversify your income, so if one thing goes down you have a fall back. But as a beginner, your only concern is to find one method that works and to scale that.

I know a lot of things may be confusing for you right now. I know when I first started out I was lost with all these different aspects and vernaculars of this business, and found it all to be a bit intimidating. But the idea for IM is pretty simple in my opinion. IM is like a really complex game, and money is the point system.

I think the best course of action for a beginner is to use offers through cpa networks. Even if you own your own website earning on adsense, I think it would be much more lucrative to advertise your on cpa offers on your site, and you have the golden opportunity to spy exactly what kind of ads are running and probably working well on your site. There's a reason guys like me pay to run ads on your site, cause in terms of income, you're getting pennies on the dollar.

I'm no expert of cpa companies or anything, but the ones I would suggest applying to as a beginner if you're still not sure exactly on what niche you will focus, I would apply to the following:

    Mundo media

Ive had nothing but good experiences with these networks. If anyone has other suggestions, feel free to add to it.

Or you can go to offerevault and browse offers and apply to those networks you find with offers you ant specifically.

There are a few tools of the trade I would suggest, whether you want to go into media buying or social media spamming or what have you.
    HT Track website copier
    VMware player
    Notepad ++

Those are all free as well. Although I believe an ad spy is no longer necessary for myself, it would still be helpful to find landers. But I would suggest making a fb profile of your target audience (30 year old woman for diet) and putting some activity on it, then wait for ads to pop up, then click them and collect the different landers to try for yourself.

If you're doing ppd, for christ's sake just build your own offer wall and quit being brokered so hard in the ass. Tell your AM you need incent offers, they may have you make a separate account just for there incent offers. It's not that hard. This leads me to my first tip: Just cause you dont understand something, dont shy away from learning it. So what you spend an afternoon learning something complicated, you'll be MUCH better for it. I knew nothing about web design or coding before this, but I learned what I had to as I went.

Dont ever follow a method you find here on BHW. I promise you it doesnt work, or barely works. Take what you can from each method and build a patchwork quilt of a method, this has been how I have made my income.

Things aren't so black and white. You'd be amazed at the things people have never thought to try, and actually work. Like I said, IM is a game. Build a sales funnel for a niche and think "how can I get traffic to this". There are literally thousands of ways if you think outside the box.

It literally took me about a year before I started making a decent income from IM. Thats why its laughable to me when I see people whining about not making any money after 2 months. I had many 60+ hour weeks with 0 income to show for it. We all gotta pay our dues.

If you enjoy what you do, it will be much easier to find success. That's really corny I know. But I get a kick from IM, like I said, its like a game to me, so I've been able to stick it out through the rough times.

If you find something simple that works well enough, OUTSOURCE. You can find a worker in the phillipines who will work for roughly $2/hour. If you find something that can make you more than $80/week, outsource that shit and scale. I currently have 3 working full time. So I can still spend a minimal amount of time managing them, and have my focus on another full time project as well.
But only focus on one project at a time until you've made something work.

If you go into social media marketing, use vmware player to put your accounts on different virtual machines, this will save you a lot of trouble and is a very simple solution. Private proxies are almost necessary as well, and that can be pricy, but its worth it. SSLprivateproxy provides very high quality proxys, although pricy, well worth it. I have about 200.
But ideally you want to figure out how to incorporate bots to make any real money, and they make all this much simpler.

Dont be afraid to invest money. Scared money dont make money. I can tell you from my experience, you have to be bold to make any headway. I recently dumped thousands into a project with no inclination of whether or not the bottom would fall out tomorrow or next year, and believe me I was frightened. But it paid off well, and now I make no less than 200/day from this method alone.

Dont tell anyone your method until you're done with it.

Scaling is the most important aspect. So when you have something that works, you burn everything just to focus on multiplying that. I call it blitzkrieg marketing. Because it's in the image of blitzkrieg business strategies. You need to realize everything is fickle, and the only thing that matters is right now and the direction you're heading. So if that means sacrificing a lander/product/traffic source you've spent hours upon hours developing for a better approach thats making you money right now, you do whatever it takes to advance that.

This is all I have to offer right now, I will probably add more things as I think of them.

Also, ironically enough, spend less time on forums, more time working

Brilliant post! There's nothing better than some sane advice coming from someone who is obviously working and knows what he is doing. Such subtle tips that might seem obvious but are actually keynote and can serve as the foundations of a successful IM journey. Thanks a lot!
