I’m sure others who do IM full-time have some nights where you just can’t sleep. I find doing “creative” work very hard on anything under 6 hours.

How do you guys get motivated on low sleep? Or do you not end up doing anything when running on low sleep?

I’m always worried like my mindset isn’t right so I’ll f up an anchor text or something and find it hard to build links on low sleep. This is likely an irrational fear as I’ve been doing SEO for 7 years and know what I’m doing, but nonetheless, one that I struggle with.

Curious to hear your thoughts...

I have been on 4 to 5hrs sleep for about months . Its Itt about how many hours you sleep its its about the sleep quality and the amount of deep sleep . Try gradually decreasing the time and also .. study shows that if you believe that you had a good sleep your brain will work better

What about three sweet letter many silicon vally people do it :/

Damn!

This is actually true... I've had 4 hour sleep nights where I felt like 6+ hours because I convinced myself that I slept over 6 hours.

Try to get 9 hours of sleep, and go to bed no later than 10pm.

Personally, I find it difficult to manage without proper sleep. Here is my evening routine,
Hit the gym at 8 PM - Workout until 9:30 - Shower and dinner by 10 PM - Work till 1 AM - Sleep till 9 AM

8 hours of sleep achieved!

Sometimes I do feel discharged, that leads to motivational issues. The way to go around this is pretty simple.. I usually take a time to rest my brain by watching some movies over TV, chatting on messanger and keeping my PC turned off.. Day after that and I feel "pumped" again. Kinda weird, but does the job for me.

Keep a life goal and work for it, whatever go outside doesn't matter if you know what your final goal to reach, Normally I'm in front of the computer for more than 14 hours, every week I go outside and drunk well and take long sleep it will give me good fresh feeling

Shorter work periods with lots of breaks and you can still muster up some bursts of creative energy. Very broken down todo lists also. But you just gotta accept that you're not going to get as much done if you don't sleep for long enough. Personally if I unexpectedly don't sleep enough I try to plan the day so that I'm not working on anything big picture and just going through the steps of something I have already planned or something brainless like that.

I dunno how you guys manage with 5 hrs of sleep. I need atleast 8 hours of sleep lol. I must be missing out on something.

This response is tottally irrelevant to the thread. Everyone knows “sleep is good,” but that has nothing to do with my question.

My theory is that anyone who says they can consistently function at full capacity with less than 7 hours of sleep per night is simply not telling the truth or does not know what it feels like to get a good night of sleep because their health is in the gutter and they are always tired. I've never met one of these magical people who can function on 4, 5, or 6 hours a night, yet it seems that half the people of the internet can do so.

LOL exactly! I can feel the difference if I have to sleep let's say.. 6 hrs in a day... I feel tired as fuck and end up having too much caffeine. 8 hours sleep and my body is super happy.

6 hours of sleep should be enough for trained individuals.

If you're a coffee drinker, drink coffee of course or any source of caffeine.
I find it easier to concentrate when drinking coffee and of course lightning my first morning cigarette.

That holds me for good hour or two, when I need to light another one.
