Most You Paid for Content?

I don't care how much it cost! I want the possible best content to promote a new niche I'm attacking. I have a good amount of competitors that have shitty content.

How much is the most you paid for top dollar content and how many words? Also, any recommendations? I used the marketplace here and it's hit or miss.

I have paid $225 for a 1,000 word article. BUT that was a piece of evergreen sales copy for my real-world business, it needed to convert perfectly.
I am currently looking at around $10 per 100 for research articles for my consulting business.

For most of my IM sites:
I pay around $0.70-$1.25 per 500 for custom filler
I pay $1.00 article for standard filler
I pay around $3.5 per 500 for reviews and such.
No complaints, but no one I can currently recommend, as I recently lost my good review hookup, so I am searching for a new one.

Hi, @FormerBoxer and @patriotnews.

It is really difficult to find a reliable provider of content nowadays. This applies not only when you need content but also other IM-based services.
Try to pick your top 3 content providers from the Content/Copywriting section of the forum. Rank the providers based on the following attributes:
- customers' reviews/testimonials
- quality of pre-written samples

Interview them through chat on Skype. That'll give you an idea of the quality you're getting. Don't worry if you'll be chatting with the company's owner or manager. In most cases, the owner's standards are mirrored in the performance of his or her employees' work.

Anybody? Like I said I had many article written on BHW which is hit and miss. What about text broker? I just want to pay a good amount of money for the article if it can be like a WOW factor for this new niche.

Have sold content for $40 to $80 (USD) per 250 words, occasionally more.

In terms of buying content, more isn't always better though. Have worked with a very large number of writers and the ones that want $30 per 250 can end up being the same quality as the ones who want $10 for 250 words.

If I were you, I would offer a pretty decent rate to a few different writers for a few different projects and then stick with whoever you like best.

Are we taking about hiring people from places like upwork, freelancer, etc.? Any advice on to what type of writers to look for like what country? Thanks

Upwork is decent, although many low-quality writers on there too. U.S., UK, Aus, New Zealand usually all good for highest quality English content. Many, many people lie about their country of residence on Upwork, though, so you have to be careful what you look at. Generally best way to screen is to ask for a work sample and review it. Then when you discuss with them directly, see if they actually sound like English speakers in the chat (and are not passing off someone else's content as their own).

Most of the best writers I have are people who have contacted me directly through my websites/blogs, although that is not necessarily an option for people who don't happen to have sites in the same niche.

Hi, @TheExecutioner. Yeah, we see what we want to see. The pieces of advice our fellow BHW members have given can be done to content providers inside and outside BHW. The bottom line is, it requires due diligence, and sometimes hard work, to find that reliable writer who won't treat your project like a guinea pig.
