That’s an interesting point. Dubai definitely has that polished, futuristic vibe, but I can see why some people feel it’s built more for spectacle than authenticity.
Yeah, Bali is a good example of how social media can set unrealistic expectations. A lot of those famous spots look peaceful in photos, but in reality, they can be extremely crowded.
That’s a solid list. Many famous landmarks seem to struggle with overtourism now, where the hype and crowds can reduce the experience. Stonehenge especially seems to divide opinions because of the ticket price and the distance from the monument.
Patong definitely has a reputation for being very intense compared to the rest of Phuket. It’s more known for nightlife than for the typical beach getaway experience.

Paris felt overrated to me in the early hours. I was tired, and the city seemed dirty and deserted. But when night fell, everything changed, and it became my favorite place in the world. So here's the deal: there aren't really overrated cities, just the right time to experience them. You just have to be open to it.
