Hi dudes thought id best stick this question in white hat section, I have been assigned to seo a site and it has like 10 products that are in some kinda carousel ajax thing so basically each prduct displays for a few seconds then nexy image and text is shown,,,,,,,,well I checked the source and its got 10 H1 tags..... I think this is detrimental to the page, what do you guys think ?

thanks in advance
:)

yeah google uses the h1 tags to help determine what the page is about so 10 h1 tags with a different keyword in each one would have a slight decrease in the page's seo for those keywords. a better strategy would be to have a different page for each of the keywords and only use that one keyword in the title, url, h1 tags, etc. but on-page seo isn't nearly as big of a factor as off-page so overall it may not make an enormous difference if your off-page seo is way better than your competitions. id only owrry about it if your off-page seo is roughly equal to that of your competitors

use H1,H2,H3,H4 .. u can use in same page .. no need to use 10 H1 tag.. :D

thanks guys for your speedy reply....i'll change it when i get back to work
:)

Man...

ALWAYS use only one <h1>

You can play with <h2> and <h3> but never with <h1>.

<h1> is really valuable for Google so keep it nice.

If you will decide to use <h2> ,use <h3> as well - this will give you SERPs boost.

same here, ExtraWinner nailed it.

I use H1 on top (post title), usually little bit different wording than page title, but containing the keyword/s

h2 subtitle

h3 through out post (like subtitels), sometime at the very end
