More Backlinks...Lower SERP

Google is usually predictable but it is not subject to the rules or correlation that we build up here on BHW.

Usually, if you build more good links than your competitors, you will beat them. Usually.

Sometimes, Google just says no to your website, for a reason that you will never know. This has happened to me once or twice before. Maybe these sites will come back, so I do a little maintenance on them now and again. But they may well never reach the top for mysterious reasons.

I dont fret about it because I have lots of sites and methods. Move on to more projects, so the next time this happens, it won't be a big problem for you.

my 2 month old autoblog site is gone too in google's serps just recently...it already reached the avg of 40-50 visits per day and doing well on adsense, but now i got ZERO visits. Still i can see my pages indexed(using site:mysite.com) does it mean that my site is on googles sandbox too? Any advice.. newbie on SEO and autobloging. Will it go back to normal? How long?

Thanks and very much appreciated... :)

Keep building new content and quality backlinks. You will get back. It's a marathon job to be in the top 10 SERPs.

One factor is uniqueness of the contents you have. And it is much better to build around 40 or 50 links a day to prevent sandbox.

Yup.. I dont believe in unique contents as well. if its a big factor you can copy the contents of your competitors and post it using LFE or SENuke..

Update: MY site is heading for the top in Yahoo. Peaked at 7

With Bing I am varyign 40-50.

Google still refuses to recognize me.

Your less than a year old. Simple as that. google does not believe your legit cause your just a nubie.

Now this may sound like the opposite of what has been practiced. I have sites which
are exactly in the same shoes as you being stuck behind others with fewer backlinks.

Recently, I did the unthinkable for one of my sites, I pulled off some of the links to the
site and the mysterious happens! The site shot right up to page 1 on google!

Sometimes you dunno what google is up to...gotta experiment...trial and error...

If it is a new site you need to give it 2 or 3 months to let it all settle, then G will give you good SERP if you have been continually backlinking.

That's not what Micallef was referring to. He was pointing out that building 40 or 50 links a day to "avoid" being sandboxed is ridiculous.

If you think blasting duplicate content with SENuke is going to help you from an SEO standpoint, you're smoking crack.

That's about as generic as advice gets.

Sometimes I wonder if half of the people leaving responses like this have ever actually ranked a site, or if they are just repeating some regurgitated crap they picked up in a $10 PDF.

Like mentioned above, there's really no fool proof way to know. Consistency is key with anything WH. Keep at it.

@ OP - Grab links from trusted sites will definitely help.

Also, quality outbound links have helped me a lot when I have had sites having the same problems are you are describing.

With said, Google can and will be unpredictable, and things do take time.

Micallef made a great point about learning from what is happening, and move onto other projects. You need to always keep moving forward if you want to see results. Never become emotionally attached to any one project.

10 links from trusted sites with related content to your will beat 300 random backlinks.

maybe a couple of hundreds of good DIGGs will put you out of your 50's nightmare

I am getting the same exact results. Site is 4 months old. Acquired too many backlinks with same anchor text too fast. Yahoo is good, G is not showing.

Sometimes it's just google dance. I've been on page 1 for about 5 days now I'm on page 6 because of the google dance, I keep building links and I will come back to page 1 in some time. I always build links for different keywords and so on. With some unimportant keywords I'm still rank 1 but the keywords I need I'm on page 2 or page 4 but I'm on page one with some blogger blog that I use as my doorway page. It will just take some time so keep building links. As long as you can find yourself with "domain.com" in a google search you are not sandboxed.
