monitor wifi traffic

I am using residential timewarner cable internet
get wifi through a one piece router / modem so timewarner controls the internet.
I could use a separate router but have noticed that the internet disconnects and I am forced to reboot many times.
When timewarner cable company has control of the device; internet disconnects less.
I have many visitors in my house so I would like to monitor their internet but due to my setup there is no login screen only a wifi username password.
So this may be harder to do than public internet at Starbucks where there is at least a login screen.

I have done wireshark tutorials and all I can see is my traffic.
Is netcrack good?


Also because I am supplying the internet I can create a wifi hotspot for my household.
