I've always had a belief that if you are new to something its wise to get a coach/mentor like in sports, careers, personal etc... to help set you in the right direction or get you on the right footing at least with a plan specifically made for you.

Now I understand that no one is going to hold your hands and walk you to success in anything in life especially when it comes to making money online and I do not believe in anyone promising crazy profits in a short amount of time, however I believe they can at least offer guidance in what ever they specialise in that interests you (in relation to making money online).

I have tried numerous methods and ready many ebooks/threads with some having some success where I turn a profit but they never really stick or have a long term mindset or goal.

Does something as a "making money online" coach even exist? if so any recommendations or a place where someone can seek one?

My honest opinion: Do not waste your time looking for "mentors" or "coaches".

2 Years ago i wanted to see what a "lifecoach" can help me with, so i started to search for lifecoaches in my area that can help me improve my overall life. However, after a few sessions with my "lifecoach" i knew that it wasn't worth the money. The thing with lifecoaches and mentors is, they can guide you in the right direction, but the choice to execute is yours. They cannot help you to do your work as it solely depends upon you if you succeed or not. If you already know what you have to do then you do not need a lifecoach or a mentor. As they are simply for people that literally don't know anything about which path they wanna take in life.

Back when i had my apprenticeship, before i quit there was a guy 2 or 3 years younger than me. He knew i already succeeded online and one day came up to me and was like "Hey, can you mentor me?" - I was like "What the hell?" I don't even know how i can mentor someone as i know this guy can't replicate my success. He does not think like me, he does not work like me etc. - You don't learn execution by getting mentored, you learn execution by simply doing it, no matter what. And that's how you get better as well.

So to cut it short. Most Lifecoaches are a waste of money and time. They will tell you what you already know, they will not help you execute things as its solely based on you.
 
Coach yourself. Spend time here in this forum, read threads then implement the methods. Interact with members and you'll learn enough.

now lets say if you already know the niche you want to do, do you think its a good idea to get a coach in that field to further you? teach you something you might not know
 
You to be accountable to make money there is no shortcut to it.

It really depends. In my opinion (and that really might be only my opinion) no. You will make mistakes along the way anyways. A mentor can just show you how to not make those mistakes but you might be doing different mistakes that they have not made. Also, you really have to spend a lot of time to find a mentor that is worth the money. Take Niches like Amazon FBA, Dropshipping etc. - There are thousands of so called "Coaches" or "Mentors", yet they only promote their program and haven't made a single dime doing it on their own yet. Buying their course or getting coached by them is just a huge amount of time lost and money lost. They don't want you to succeed anyway. They only want your money. Why would a mentor (That has made X,XXX $ per month/day/whatever) show you all the in's & out's of the business that makes him so much money? He would end up killing his own method.

So Yeah, i would rather dive right into your niche, start getting stuff done, experience failures (and of course learning from them by yourself) instead of paying someone to tell me "You should do XYZ" "You have to do XYZ that" etc. etc. - It's really a waste of your time as you are not going anywhere with this. You are just applying what someone else thinks might work, but you never really experience what it's actually like to learn the in's and out's of that specific niche you are into.
 
Making Money Online is you need skills like editing video otherwise if you don't have digital skills you have much money to invest for ads like facebook ads. And you should have time to read guides and tutorials. Affiliate marketing + facebook ads is very profitable (you need money here for facebook ads) just spend 1 week reading guides, tutorials, tips, tricks, hacks and success story in youtube and in some websites or forums.
 
For sure, you will spend your time with a coach/mentor, it`s better to read more, ask questions here and learn from your own mistakes
 
There are a lot of “Gurus” on YouTube. Most of them are pretty shit and fake their numbers to sell you their own products. I still believe if you’re able to filter out the bad ones that you can find some really useful information there. Just add your own a little twists to it and make sure that you take everything they say with a grain of salt. Also keep your self motivation up and surround yourself with people that have the same ambitions as you.
 
Your thinking is messed up and will get you to keep losing money. Think about it, why would someone making a lot of money online want to coach others ? For the fun of it ?

It's just like everything else, there are some professors in specific areas that will teach you their specialty, but there are no "Elon Musk business guru" which will teach you EVERYTHING at once. You need to take a business class, an accounting class, a finance class etc... And then you have different pieces of the puzzle to make things work for you.

Making money online is the same as making money offline : you need to sell something to someone. You will need the same things : a website, a payment processor, an accountant, a business licence etc...

It's not that hard, start by :
  1. Which social, industry, or professional group do you belong to/have belonged to, or do you understand VERY well ? Whether dentists, artists, engineers, students, yogis..
  2. Out of these groups, keep the ones who spend money.
  3. Brainstorm and find a clear problem this group has, which you can solve easily. For examples in university, I could write a A-grade essay in 1h30 when it took a week for others, I made a ton of money selling essays.
  4. The main solution/benefit should fit in one sentence: "ipod = 1000 songs in your pocket". Simplicity is king.
  5. Make sure it costs customers $50-$250, above that they will need a lot of attention
  6. When you have your product/service, write down a FAQ. Imagine someone is arguing with you and being very disagreeable, and you prove him wrong each time. Speak out-loud with yourself if you have to.
  7. Now you have your product, your pricing, your market, and your sales script.
And then whatever field you are lacking, get a book or go to a university class about the subject. Things like accounting, consumer behavior, etc.. Whatever is lacking in your little plan to make things work.

Stop looking for the guru who will teach your everything there is to know, find the specialists in specific fields and learn from them. Then build your own little block tower from it.

Unless you're lazy, then go give your money to the guru, they probably can spend it better than you.

Thats what would I suggest too. We are responsible for actions at the end of the day anyway
 
From my point of view, there are guys who radiate basic knowledge on finance & investments (or whatever the niche may be) via YT. They won't attempt to sell you anything in return.

Conversely, there are 'gurus' who'd lure you to buy their courses.
 
If you're doing live coaching try to structure it as group sessions to leverage your time. That's my #1 tip when it comes to coaching. It allows for more scale than 1:1 and you can charge less if you want for more volume.
