money in forums?

vBulletin is good, but I think that IP Board is better (more secure against attacks). As for earnings is quite difficult to create a discussion forum which makes money. Ads generally not earn much. Rather, I suggest to introduce a paid section.

Do you own any forums?

Firstly get it running by Offering something to user for being active and post.. after that once people get used to it...you will enjoy easy money

I would want to hire people but most forums don't include any paid positions for moderators and such. If I would need to pay some then I'm okay with that but I don't want to over/under pay.

I am wondering if I would need any special hosting plan with GoDaddy.

Thanks guys.

My question is above though.

Does anybody know the answer to this?

Drop godaddy as hosting they are awful, my recommendation to you is find a place with shared hosting that you can migrate into a VPS easy like dreamhost.com or hostgator.

This way if your site grows you won't suffer much from the transfer when you need to.

If money is not an issue then got straight for a managed VPS or even dedicated server if you don't have linux background, and if your forum does grow believe me you will need a good server/vps if using vbulletin with SEO plugin which is a resource hog.

i want to stick with godaddy for now because i have all my domains are set up with them. which hosting plan should i choose?

Well you do not have to move your domains from godaddy to use some place else hosting, all u need is to change the DNS on the domain panel.

The thing is I want to stay with GoDaddy.
