check in the aws account how much resources have you used,they have a total of 750 hours (for 12 months) if you burn that in 2 months or even a week they will start charging you,believe im using aws for a long time they will do random charges at random time to check the card is active.

There were two charges. Amazon and GoDaddy as OP said & showed. He is with both.

So it might have been "free" for a month, I don't know what exactly you signed up for. This is something you should have read beforehand. You most probably approved this payment when you signed up and it was on you to be careful about what you approve. Now all you can do it cancel the payment so you don't get the deduction next month too.
It's not a free lesson, but hopefully it's a memorable one that would protect you from suffering from the same thing with larger sums. I personally made a cock-up like that with a larger sum, so I know exactly how you feel, but all you can do is learn your lesson and be more careful what you sign up for with a payment method in the future.
But you can rest assured that Amazon were not technically scamming you and there is probably no way to get the money back.

The lesson here is more like: always read the terms, if you sign up for something (with your credit card), free or paid.

I didn't know they pulled that trick too. Well, that's the same lesson indeed. If you are giving somebody your credit card, you need to be sure you will not get charged for BS all of a sudden. Nobody gives anything really for free, but for a reason, so it's always a risk, especially if you are not looking at the terms.

free at certain limits...and what you did is you exceeded those limits ...check again in your aws account and you will see all details ...

the VPS is free but you have usage limits which is refreshed on a monthly basis, if you go over the free tier usage you wil get charged for the extra, hope that helps clarify things
