Money can control another's fate/life. You can control your fate and life if you have the money.
When you're holding a job, you are being controlled by your boss. And if you're in desperate need of money, that's worst.. you are as good as a slave. If you have huge debts, that's worst. You're fucked.

If you have money, you control your own fate and life. You can do what you want. You are protected. The law sides you as you can hire top notch lawyers and even the government can side you. Look at those rich bastards whom broke the law, they usually have a lighter sentence than humble and not-so-wealth-to-be people.
People whom said, "Money can't buy everything." That's pure B.S. They are just being ignorant and using that to rationalize or feel better for themselves. Stop being in denial and accept the ugly truth.
You can donate your time to charity to help out, but with money you could have hired numerous workers to donate their time. With money, you could buy stash of supplies and food and send them to Africa to feed the starving children.

Recently, my friends and I were looking for social escorts (for the fun of it) and guess what? A huge amount of females actually responded to me. Most of them were okay with sex. Most disturbing of all, some of them were as young as 15-17. Some of them even had boyfriends but they were willing to do it too... just for money. I can't imagine if they were my girlfriends, seriously. Everyone has a price.

If you're a beggar in tattered shirt and pants with holes in your underwear, but with a heart of gold.. no females would be interested to like/love you. They will shun you. And even if they do talk to you, you're simply just in their friends' zone.
But if you have the money, damn.. that's a totally different story.

People could simply backstab one and another just to get wealth. Ever see those rich spoilt siblings fighting with each other just to get their parents' inheritance? Or women sleeping with bosses just to climb the corporate ladder faster?

I'm not saying we should worship money and do unethical ways just to get em'. View money as papers with numbers of them, don't worship them. But be aware of their power and bargaining power.

That may be true for most of the world, but man, there's whole communities of people who live by trade/barter and love. Which is where it should be I think. Most will disagree because some sort of advertisement made them want to purchase expensive things, but with love and goodwill, many good things can be achieved.

That said I realize that money does matter and thats why I pursue it, to be able to do the things that I think need to be done.

It 's a generalization but true as far as generalizations can be true.

    Some notes

    a) Money is worthless in itself. It 's the wealth that matters. Money is merely a means of transportation of wealth. Learn the distinction, it 's important for your thought process.

    b) Hoarding of wealth is not evil. It 's the exact opposite. Surprised? Well, don't worry, it 's normal because we are bombarded with the "money is evil" propaganda. Let me try to explain briefly, although it 's a complex subject.

Statement A: Increase of total wealth in an economy means better life for the community.
Suppose you 're on vacation on a village that has average salary of $50/month. Out of nowhere, you 're a rich guy that pumps money in the local economy. Does the income of the villagers increase? Sure.

Statement B: A society can increase its wealth by increasing it 's wealth production.
That 's pretty self explanatory but for those uncertain it sums up to: "Produce more weed, you 're happier" :D:D

Statement C: Important increase of production can only come via technology
This is easy to understand, since we breathe technology. You were doing X comments manually per day, then SB came out and you did 100.000*X :) You still worked the same hours, but your output increased.

Statement D: Technology comes from capital accumulation
This is the core of the subject. Read it again and then once more. We needed A,B and C to understand the concept, but this is the crucial thing. You need capital to produce and invest in new technology. You can't get new generation equipment on your factory without it.

So, capital accumulation is a good thing for everyone, although the capital is not accumulated by everyone but only by a few (the rich guys).

This does not mean that humans can only live in capitalism of course. Capitalism has been around only for a few centuries. We did survive before, but I 'm sure few of us would prefer to live in as serfs in a medieval village. ;)

earning money is different from wealth creation. However keeping money and wealth aside. Let us see what controls our life.

When it comes to animals the sexual urge, hunger and fear of enemy controls their life. All the animals are bound by these, though motherhood behavior (briefly when the babies are extremely small) of animals are a bit different, it is coded in their dna so that their kind can thrive in this world. However after the babies grow up, and when they get the urge (be it sexual or hunger) they have an intercourse with their own kids/parents and they fight with their parents/kids for the food.

There is a bit of that remnant dna in us as well and that is why you see people go by urges and let things and habits control them. However evolution has given us the ability to control our lives rather than letting some external things or internal urges control us. Money is one such urge which man created recently, drugs and other bad habits are also there.. You have just seen how money is controlling certain people, and if you explore more you can see how drugs control certain people, people can die for drugs, and there are worse cases who are controlled by the urges to see blood and so on.

The point is we have the liberty to control over lives, but we have the lamb mindset and we unconsciously want some external factor to control us. The very essence of life in many spiritual paths is to take control of our life and to accept responsibility of our life. There are people who despite just managing two meals a day are living happily with virtues and controlling their life. So no excuses for being controlled by money.

Now coming back to money and wealth, if we closely watch the ecosystem, mother nature has given us more than sufficient resources to live happily, there is enough resource in this world to feed 7 billion more people, however the 90% of that resource is being controlled by 2% of the people in the world. This is essentially the biggest mistake in the evolution of our societies. I am not being a communist here, and I don't believe in communism, because there should be maximum growth and for that communism should be abolished. However there should be a system, by which the uber rich should contribute back to the world which gave him all the resource to succeed. Any wealth more than what you want (even to live luxuriously) when people are dying out of hunger is obscene, there is no act of crime which is worse than this. Our society and especially certain religions played an important role in keeping the uber rich and the kings worshipful and irresponsible. That has to change.

The most important thing has to be security. They say money can't buy happiness and they're right, it can't, but happiness isn't the only thing that matters, either. Security can actually be bought, as long as you're not stupidly wasting all your money away.

Don't chase after money--chase after time. But the two go hand in hand...

That's a great post BS. Especially the first two sentences.

When I was younger, I was naive. I was a naive little boy. I had a disney type, idealistic mentality. I never really thought about money. I believed that being a nice person would get you rewards, never lying, doing what you are passionate about, taking girls out on many dates before putting hand down pants, and all that. Then something happened which made me realize the truth, money makes the world go round, without it we can do very little, and people are desperate to get it. If you have no money you are stuck, you have no leverage, businesses and most people won't want to deal with you, hell even my family didn't respect all my hard work until they actually saw me making money from it, and that's my own family. I never used to think about the simple things, like how toilet paper costs money, until I moved out of my parents' house, and I had to buy my own. "I even have to pay to take a SHIT?!" I exclaimed in disbelief. If you're rich you may not be able to buy a girl's true affections, however you can basically buy sex and tell them to shut up and go away afterwards. Why, because you have loads of money, which is more scarce than sex. Many poor deadbeat dudes actually make girls genuinely fall in love with them, but they don't have much else.

A couple things money can't do, which is important:

If you have a serious health condition, you would do anything to just be healthy again. (Money can access healthcare, it's true, but for many conditions there is no cure)
If you are just a boring / odd in a bad way / spiteful / angry / hateful person. No money can make you an interesting person, although you can travel a lot etc., some people are just damn boring and no one likes them. That is tough to deal with especially when you have so much money but you can't seem to have anyone genuinely want to be around you if your money weren't there.

If your face is deformed and you look like a fish.

If you end up lost and stranded on an island away from civilization.

    etc.

So, money can provide freedom but has its limits. You really can get girls just by being interesting/charismatic with no money at all, for a lot of dudes this may seem hard to believe but it is true, no need for escorts. Though, if I had loads of money and didn't feel like talking to chicks then it would make no difference to my bank account to get an escort while I would avoid the annoyance of listening to chicks to pick them up, so that would be a net gain I guess. Anyway nice post, it got me thinking.

im sorry to disturb your party but why did you create this thread again? Im not sure if it was you but im pretty sure you have been in BHW long enough to know there were plenty of this kind of thread "money CAN buy happiness", "money doesnt bring happiness my a$$", etc. etc. it's getting boring and old tbh.

everybody knows money is important. probably one of top 3 important things in this world (beside family and health)

and im not the one to judge but seriously if you need sex better get real GF. Escorts are known for their disease, i would stay away from them as best as i can.

While condom is very protective against HIV, GO, and the likes, you may not know it's not that useful against herpes, HPV, syphilis, and hepatitis. Keep in mind more than half people infected with HPV and herpes have asymptomatic infection but they can still pass the virus. While we have vaccine for hepatitis B and HPV already but you need to get the shots before you enter the risk having sex with escorts. If you already get the virus before the vaccine, good luck fighting that with your natural antibody system.

Of course most people wouldnt realize this because as I said more than half people infected with HSV and HPV have asymptomatic infection but they can still pass the virus. The least thing I want is to have STD without symptom then all of sudden my GF gets a herpes sore out of nowhere. That would be the most guilty feeling in the world. Thats why it's just better to stay away. No risk, no stress.

and even though your escorts were just 15 and 17, it still doesnt change the fact that they were escorts. It means they have been sleeping with lots of dirty men (which definitely increase their risk)

keep in mind some of these STDs are incurable (HSV as the prime example). If you dont mind getting herpes then so be it. I wouldnt touch any escort and better to just stick with my GF

and if you are thinking "how do you know", it's easy. just go to websites like medhelp, CDC, and the likes. I always double check before doing anything. I was definitely thinking about having fun with escorts too but luckily I did my research extensively. Obviously my GF isnt as hot as the escorts i were lusting for but chance of real GF being healthy as compared to escorts is like 100:1.

back to the topic. i agree with jb2008 that there are things money cant buy and there are still people without money that can get hot girls. But in the end i also agree money is THAT important (i still wont use money for sex though. Being healthy is more important. This is also the reason why i dont smoke and only drink socially)

I agree about escorts/hookers, they don't appeal to me due to the fact they have had relations with an abnormally high number of men, many of them disgusting weirdos with various diseases. I'm quite repulsed by them actually.

I think if I had loads of money I would be my normal happy self, without worries about how I'm going to make it in this world, which weighs on me constantly. Therefore I would just talk to chicks, not escorts, and bang them for free.

Maybe when I'm like 70 or something if I make it that far, I would just say screw it, go to thailand and latin america and go on an unprotected rampage of disgracefully perverse hedonism. No ladyboys, pure hot girls, no condoms. Sure I might get AIDS but I'm gonna die soon at that point anyway sooo... Without money, at 70, you might just be sitting alone in your small bungalow playing crosswords. With money, you have a foursome with three hot young village girls from El Salvador :)

Sad but true. We should try to get a life and focus on our beloved ones instead of waking up every morning and thinking of how to make money like junkies. I know we all need money, but we tend to neglect our beloved ones, sacrifice our health to make money and then we sacrifice money to recuperate our health. So don't let money rule your world.

That 's really bad because when you get shit, you pass shit to your partners. So although you 'll be close to death anyway, you 'll have killed more than a few young people...

That's it? Your last good-bye is sex, sex and sex?

What's wrong with being 70, sitting on a small bungalow and playing crosswords? What if he's playing crosswords with his wife whom he loves dearly? Sure they have no money but they have enough to eat 3 meals a day and still can go somewhere nice to eat once a week. They have children who love them and might I add, whom they raised up nicely to become people who do not think "sex" is the ultimate pleasure a human could get.

I'm pretty sure my post is super ramped up lol. But still, a person mocking on a poor 70-year old simply because he lives in a small bungalow while playing crosswords is a pretty naive person to me.

My guess is that the op is younger and hasn't had to support a family with money. When you're young, you can afford to have stupid views on money. You can look at the world and ask "why does everyone care so much about money?"... "the world is such a cruel and mean place". yadda yadda...

I believe this is where wall street protesters come in. Most of them ride the education train all the way until someone gives them a diploma and says get off... oh, and here's the loan you've got to start repaying...

What is the world really like? - Greed

On the surface, we are all fairly civil with each other.

Dig deeper and we're all greedy bastards - we have to be. Money = food, shelter, transportation, etc... --> survival

Blue collar workers tend to have a mindset that is along the lines of "I work hard for my money." Their perception of money is that it is all about trading sweat for money. On the other hand, there is another group that figures out that you invest money and time to make even more money. I think this is where the classes tend to clash. One guy busts his ass cleaning some place for 40 hours a week and he makes the same regardless of how hard he works. Another guy sits down at a computer and makes 30 times as much money pushing buttons and clicking a mouse... most times having spent a fraction of the time the other guy had.

I'm assuming most of the people reading this are business owners. We have to be greedy. We have to figure out how we can pay worker A to do X, Y, Z and that will produce something we can sell for a profit.

I'd like to say that we live in a world where money isn't everything. I'd like to say that our kids will grow up in a place where the world is about furthering our understanding of the world around us. I'd like to say that we could just forget about money and all get along... but we can't. We live in a world where money controls everything. All I know is that for a business owner, the mindset of "let's all get along and money isn't everything" - it's toxic to your business.

Not sure if you've heard of it, but kiva.org is a great service to give back through. No interest loans to people who need the money. These people pay it back over time and then you can put the money right back into the system and donate it to someone else.

Of course if I got AIDs, I would stop! It's beyond fucked up to give that to another person. (Though hookers in many parts of the world do this regularly.)

Also, in those parts of the world unfortunately if she doesn't get it from me, she will get it from another person due to her profession. Not saying I wouldn't stop, which I obviously would, but it's unfortunate knowing that even my stopping will probably not affect her chances of getting AIDS, in the end. That just shows the insanely risky things people are willing to do just for money.

Btw, veheme, I'm not mocking playing crosswords in a bungalow. It's just my personal preference that I would find it boring. I would find a rampage to asia and latin america much more exciting, if I had the money of course :)
