Monetizing Streamer Clips on Shorts

I’m planning to launch a YouTube Shorts channel dedicated to clipping a specific mid-tier streamer (not the massive ones like IShowSpeed, but someone with a decent following).

I’ve seen several channels successfully doing this with a single streamer, but I know YouTube is cracking down on low-effort clips.

My current plan is to:
  • Add dynamic subtitles.
  • Overlay trending songs or random background audio/memes.
  • Maybe do some slight cuts/zooms.
Is this level of editing enough to pass the YPP (Monetization) review, or will I likely get rejected for "Reused Content"?
What is the best strategy to make the content considered "transformative" enough to get monetized?

Thanks in advance.

From what I see, most clippers don't really get monetised all that much in general. Grey area though, because you can argue it's derivative all you want but some clips do end up being transformative (such as when a clipper makes a compilation of different times a streamer does something specific across different streams, etc.).
As long as YT and the viewing audience perceives your clips as entertaining enough, it should fly by just fine especially with snappy and clean editing work that's not overly quirky. Though you'll have better success as with this type of thing if you get hired by the actual streamer/talent to be their dedicated or official clipper or editor.
