Anyone here been on Modafinil for longer periods of time ? is it true that it lose its effect?

Has anyone succeded at finding a better alternative for productivity & long hours in front of a desktop? something you can get easily in Europe? (Spain/Portugal/France ) And don't say coffee or green tea :anyway:

Yes, I took it for quite a while, when I was working 12 hour days, and then 12 hour nights, then having 4 days off. (Shift work)

It did indeed slowly stop working.

Being from the USA and our wonderful pharma system, my prescriber put me on Adderall XR after that to help me stay awake and alert.

Not sure if you all have that in Euro-land, but yep, that was my experience!

I am totally against drugs but still, there's alternative solutions that cames from momma nature

Yes, Aderall is illegal here, I can get it from blackmarket though, but I have a history of addcition in my family, so I prefer to stay away from it for now.

Is it allowed in USA? I mean is it legal?

I've been using modafinil for quite some time, and the trick is to not use it unless absolutely necessary. Constant use can also have consequences.

Look, you feel the effect diminishing because you obviously get used to it, but I've heard from several colleagues that it caused them certain issues with panic and/or social problems, not wanting to go anywhere, and so on.

The easiest way to get it is in Latin America (where I'm currently located).

Yes -- Good call. With the family history of addiction, best to stay away!

What kind of effect are you after? Armodafinil is a more pure variant for focus/energy.

Yeah, Modafinil works long-term but the initial “boost” fades, so it feels more like being steady/normal than supercharged after a while. Armodafinil is a decent alternative, and if you want something easier to get in EU, phenylpiracetam or L-tyrosine + adaptogens (like Rhodiola) can help with long desktop sessions.

Admin , Mods @SettingSun77 talking about Modafinil is allowed here
Yes. As long as the discussion continues to be along the lines of how it has been so far, which has been interesting. Everybody please remember not to ask for medical advice though, as that is against our rules.

Dude, if you'll use up your body with stuff like that you'll feel old for sure.

Brahmi increases brain function but you'll get stoned (and not in a good way) if you overdo it, I'd stay away, just keep it in first aid kit since it helps if you hit yourself in the head or something.

Methylophenidate (ritalin, concerta) - used for ADHD
Lisdexamphetamine (vyvanse, elvanse) - also for ADHD .
Adderal - ADHD.
All drugs above are stronger than modafinyil.

If you need such drugs to focus - visit psychiatrist, and check if you dont have ADHD.

My typical regimen is wake up, if my mind is cloudy, drink some coffee after about 90 minutes. If the coffee isn't enough to get my mind in focus, that's the time you resort to drugs. Take it from someone with years of taking these drugs, balance it, never overdose using it and let your mind be free of it from time to time.

Modafinil can lose its effects if you take more than the recommended dose which is 200 mg or 400 mg in extreme cases. Pairing it with coffee will give it an even more stimulative effect.

Armodafinil seems to have a longer lasting effect rather than the original Modafinil. Some people use Modafinil and Armodafinil at once but it really depends on the person and what your goals are.

In regards to the losing effects, it is recommended that you do not take it daily and have some breaks every other day. That way your body will not become used to the Modafinil. And like i said, don't go crazy on the mg's as the more you take, the less productive you will most likely get.
