Mobile Indexing

It has been announced that mobile searches have surpassed web searches and now being indexed first before the latter. Because of this, it's imperative for your website to be mobile friendly.

If I am not mistaken, there are actually two types of mobile sites: Mobile Optimized & Mobile Responsive. Mobile Optimized is created to serve content. Its sole purpose is to show content.

On the other hand, a mobile responsive design is a type that can be viewed on different mobile devices. It is sometimes called adaptive.

If you have to choose between making your site mobile optimized or making it mobile responsive, what would you choose?

That's true. It can also be less expensive.

No, mobile optimized simply serve a different "mobile" version of the site to mobile traffic, while adaptive sites use their code (the CSS, and HTML) to actually morph the site's layout based on the size of the screen viewing it. You can note an adaptive site even on desktop, as if you shrink your window you can see the site change.

optimized is better because responsive glitches a lot in my experience.

Also it shows google that you 100% care about mobile users, as they might not be great at interpreting the intent of your css/html. Lol

Am a newbie to seo, I have a doubt on website rank.

Google is favoring mobile responsive and is going to index websites based on their mobile version (Google Mobile-First rollout in late 2017, ongoing in 2018), so you want all content that you have on desktop to be on mobile, too. Solutions like m.domain.com for mobile devices is bad for that practice, it's better to have one domain and one site for all devices, having it responsive.
