Mining without a farm

I really wonder if it possible to mine without a farm?
There are all sorts of mobile applications that supposedly allow you to manage the resource of a smartphone. Is it true or fake?
Is there any kind of software that allows you to mine crypto without loading the computer up to freezes and sucking out all the electricity in the city?
Any opinion is appreciated.

You need a crazy amount of mining power to mine without a farm. Basically, a million dollar investment at least. You won't mine anything these days without a farm/pool.

In my opinion all of these mining services ares scam. In the end they shut down after a couple of months.
You would need your own farm, but thats stupid expensive.

Of course, non of that is profitable. To profit from mining you need to spend thousands for Asics, and point them to a pool. Mining from cpu, and mobile are not profitable. You'll waste time.

He is talking about cloud mining services. Most are scams. You don't need mining services if you have your own miners, you have nothing to worry about. A mining pool is not a cloud mining service. It's just a group of miners.

Yes, most of the time they take down their site. They are just after your money.

Only way of going without farms is to invest into your own one, which in my opinion is really expensive if you want quality. You would need atleast $200k capital at first place.

I remember the WP Monero plugin who was mining via the CPU of your website visitors. It was working fine, until it was 'hacked'. Don't know if there are quality alternatives...

Such simple way to mine is the main goal of attackers.

I've heard of coinhive and its small javascript to insert on your site
it works for any site, not only WP
I read an article about the earning of the guy having the more visitors and using it
He earnt only $7 in 3 months!
A waste for of time for a casual site but it may be worth if your visitors stay a long time on your page (on a streaming site for example)
