Just wondering what the consensus is on minimum metrics for a domain to be used in a good PBN.

I'm mainly talking about TF CF and RD and DA.

For example: what if the TF/CF is 10/10, but the RD is 100. Would you still use this domain?

TF shows the strength of the domain and RD is the incoming distribution of the strength. The higher the TF the higher the ranking impact. The higher the RD the safer the ranking impact. That's in theory. So there are too many other factors which I won't explain here.

I would go for min. TF 15 for an English PBN and for min. RD 10. At the end it all depends on the niche you want to dominate. If you're a high baller then TF 25+ is probably the right requirement.

TF is not as important as people think it is and the TF/CF ratio is an even bigger joke.

DA and PA is whatever. I just look for a lot of RD, at least 10 TF, and great backlinks. That's it.

Minimum metrics depends on your budget, 10 RD and 10 TF is not necessarily bad but I wouldn't pick it up.

The higher the tf the higher the ranking impact. Absolutely not. Google doesn't consider tf or cf. There are tonnes of domains with amazing links from sites like huffingtonpost , CNN , cbc . And they will have a tf of 5. On the other hand there a loads of domains with high tf but not good links. Google will give a better ranking boost from the 5 tf domain because it has good links.

TF cf can easily be manipulated. And they are not the metrics you should care about. You should care about good rd and good links. Tf cf is only good for filtering out bad domains if your doing your own scrape .

Sounds like pretty good advise.

I would stick with TF/CF/DA/PA all at 10+
When you get a domain like this with no spam it is solid in all aspects so thats what i tend to look for!

IN THEORY. For sure Google doesn't use TF to rank sites lol. Metrics can always be manipulated but they are good for a general benchmark. Links you stated are overrated imo because many links from such authority sites are crap (nofollow, link from unimportant subpage etc.). Most of the time TF correlates with the ranking impact but it's not 100% precise as every approximation.

Edit: The main disadvantage of TF is that it doesn't count nofollow links which add trust in Google's eyes but no link juice. Nevertheless I wouldn't pick a domain with TF 0 and several nofollow CNN links for e.g.

I use metrics to filter domains, but I definitely don't pick domains by metrics.

Ya but that person specifically said the higher the tf the higher the ranking impact as if Google cares about tf

TF/CF are useless imo. If you filter by those you'll miss out on a ton of good domains. Well not useless, but I wouldn't filter out domains because they had low TF/CF.
RD is a good filter, it's nice to have atleast 10. But you can easily post to 10 directories and there's your ten right there.
DA is what I use most. It can be manipulated but you won't miss any domains, where as TF/CF you will.
In the end manually inspecting the domains will be best. I have local domains with low TF/CF, not great DA, but links from the gov and local newspapers.

Looks for referring domains that are of good quality. Metrics provided by paid services can only act as a guide but are often not reliable.

My only standard: DA >= 15 and MUST have very good backlink profiles (No SPAMMY backlinks and backlink from high DA/DR authority website).
Some people will tell you the formula: DA>20, PA>30, TF>15, TF:CF ratio >= 1, but all these metrics can be easily manipulated, so why not care about them? Instead go straight to the element that will help rank your money site: "backlink juice from a PBN"

This should be set in stone. TF and CF are just numbers. CF is an utter joke, that metric is pointless. TF can be manipulated, that's true, but with the higher RD it's getting more and more harder. The combination of RD and TF is the best you can go with. Crying about how easily can TF be manipulated is quite pointless, when you can easily check every backlink by hand and see whether it has been manipulated or not. You can see blog comment backlinks or sape ones from 5 miles and those are only two that are actively being used for manipualtion.

Argument, that TF can be easily manipulated is simply not true. That's like saying, that cars can easily get you into an accident. Well if you can't drive, then sure. TF is a metric and Majestic is a tool. It's up to you how you use it. And btw, I absolutely DO NOT remember when was the last time I saw expired domains with manipulated metrics on purpose.

Bottom line, always check everything by hand.

You should pay more attention on backlinks that pointing to that domain.
If domain is TF 15 but there is 1 backlink pointing to that domain so what's the point?
I rather buy domian with TF8 and it has backlinks from 30 domain pointing at it. Link juice and relevance.
