I tried bing app with chatgpt today.
All its doing is blatantly stealing your content.
How is that not a copyright voilation?
Where are millions and billions of dmca complain against it?

Yes, I can.
I know what you are thinking.
It's different than openai chatgpt actually.
It's telling you the source where it's stealing the content and listing it at the bottom of each question you ask.
Which almost no one is clicking so you are not getting anything as a publisher, but blatant theft.

It's only copyright violation if you do it. You can't steal. They can. Learn the rules, boy.
Well... You can always disavow them...

You don't get their traffic and they won't get your content.

That would work if everyone did it, but we know the vast majority won't do it. That's why they keep stealing. And they have been stealing for a long time. The previews you get on Google are exactly that: stolen content.

The difference before was that most webmasters were okay with a snippet being shown because there was a link to the source material to read more. The entire PAA explosion was based on that simple social contract, but theft's happening now--since there's no reason to visit the site.

Now, I use Bing Chat more than Google and I'm on a Linux desktop; I also find myself using the Bing mobile app far more than I ever search on Google's mobile platforms (excluding maps), and I can't think of a single time I clicked on one of its sources and taken action.

I'm at the point where all of my traffic is from video or ads and I'm probably just going to start blocking all agents.

Nah, boy.
Most publisher Microsoft is stealing from did not gave the permission to bing unlike to google whom almost everyone give permission by submitting their sitemap and requesting to index.
Even that I don't think let's google to steal like the way bing is doin.
This is different.
To give the perspective to everyone heres what Microsoft is doing.
It is showing the source to users so that it can give the legitimacy to the answers of being fatual unlike openai chatgpt.
In the process its stealing the content and giving back publishers nothing.

I was being sarcastic

Mass action lawsuits might do the trick.
Trust me lawsuits still work even against tech giants like Microsoft. But who's going to tie the bell on the cat?
Someone has to take the initiative and many more will follow suit (I am ready to throw in a few bucks to sue these scummy google and ms mofos).
