Micro Niche Sites

Hi, I have a question.

Do Micro Niche sites still work. With the google algorithm updates I read from a few sources that google penalizes micro niche sites and adsense accounts associated with them.
I also read that its better to create an authority site rather than micro niche.

What is the difference between authority and micro niche sites. How would I go about finding the best niche sites to make? Keyword Planner?

I would also like to know if it is worth it creating a few review sites on kitchen appliances to be ranked on google top ten. Would this be a better option to get on google first page?

Or should I just create a blog.

I am asking all this because I want to get started on making a few websites and I do not know which avenue to take.

Any advice would be good.

I asked this question when I first arrived to BHW,I got a lot of mixed answers so I decided not to take this path. Do whatever you want micro niche still works but its not nearly as easy as it used to be. Go With Authority site,it is king now. At least that is what I have read,good luck on your adventure mate!
 
If you're gonna try to do a MNS, you're gonna have a bad time
 
MNS do work guys. I took a MNS before 2 weeks. I write 2 article in it. And i didn't do anything in it. no web 2.0, no backlinks no social signals, i did nothing. and the site is ranking 3rd page on google with my main keyword. competition is too low. and on bing and yahoo i am on 4th rank.
 
MNS still work, although they need a lot of work and by the time you start getting on top there, the Penguin visits and penalizes you for thin content..Try making an authority even if you have to do i slow. It is well worth it..
 
how about building a site?
stage 1. micro niche site > stage 2. niche site > stage 3. authority site
start slow and grow as you bank

btw the difference between mns and authority is amount of valuable content
mns are usually between 5-15 articles/pages/posts long
versus authority sites that have pages and pages and pages of quality content

build a good valuable and worthy website.. thats the one that sticks. i.e. authority sites with atleast 15-20 articles posted regularly.
 
MNS is not Problem, Problem is COntent If you Build Site with 1 Post which Really Help people. It is Worth.
 
MNS sites, although not my favorite choice to make a buck, can still rank and make SOME money. They are not typically huge earners but can be a source of income if you play your cards right.

I'll write up a deal on how I use MNSites in my portfolio and what criteria I look for when choosing a niche that ranks and works and share it publicly in the next few days if you want.

Yes I would agree that Micro Niche Sites still work and anyone that tells you otherwise is upset cause their MNS got penalized after the big G update or they know it works and don't want to create more potential competition.
