Micro niche sites ? are they still worth it

I was interested in setting up a few micro niche sites and wanted to get the views of other forum members about them. I also saw a company offering services to build these micro niche sites in the SEO package section and wanted to find out if people who have bought these are getting decent returns if any ?

A quick google search points towards micro niche sites being useless in 2016 going foward, but obviously those were subjective points of the people who wrote the articles. I am sure there are people making money with micro niche sites i just do not know any.

Its as useless as any other site. It's only worth something if you can rank it, or generate traffic in other ways.
It's not as easy as buying 10 sites and watching the money to come in. Set aside a budget for seo/promoting.
I've seen paper thin 1 page sites ranking on top of serps to this day, so I don't see why it wouldn't still be viable in 2016.
