Micro Niche Site Tips: Happy New Year!

Do you set up each related keyword as its own page, or set a static main keyword home page and the rest on a blog page?

1. It completely depends on the niche. I usually try to have at least 1ooo words on a page.

2. Rarely, the only time i will add any fresh content is if the site begins dropping in serps.

3. This is where I outsource my wife. She writes me a slew of articles that I have ready to submit strictly for back links. My articles rarely have anything to do with my website.

This also depends on the niche, but more often then not I just set up one static page with many of the keywords optimized. In most of the niches I pick I do not need to have the keywords in the domain in order to rank.

What is your promotional routine since you upload a site until you begin with a new one, please?

I mean submissions, articles,etc.

I think I am heavily overdoing my promotional activities, wasting too much time and getting my sites sandboxed!

It's pretty simple actually. I submit a few articles and do a few manual blog comments. I have a few sites, that I frequent that help my sites out pretty well. I'm sorry I can not share these sites. If that does not get me ranked I might pay someone for a small xrumer blast and I do have scrapebox, but I only use it to scrape and find high PR blogs to post. I do not use the auto poster. Like I keep saying, I do not want to spend time on my site. I hate building backlinks, so I pick niches that will not require me to do so. I enjoy finding niches, so I spend my time finding a good niche over promoting my site.

i have some question about .biz, can they rank well? how about their ctr, will ppl saw some thing related to business and scare away?

I have not done any testing, and I do not own any .biz domains. Any info I provided would be pure speculation. I like to deal with facts, so this would be just a guess. If I had to give advice though, how many times do you see a .biz ranking on the front page? Not much. If going by that then I would probably avoid them.

I'm also wondering about that Ip thingie. Do you have 100 different ips? do you link your mns together?

I have all my sites spread over a few different hosting accounts with different IP's. I don't think it's good to have all your sites (if you have as many as me) all under one IP. It looks weird. I can't say for sure whether or not you would get in trouble, but I didn't want to risk it.

I also wanted to clarify on my content really quick. I do copy and paste most of my content, but I do go through it and change up the sentences. It's not completely unique material, but I change it enough so that it doesn't look completely taken. I can get sites to rank with just copied and pasted material, but I don't like to do that. Duplicate content is a MYTH. Trust me on this one, I have ranked plenty of sites with pure dup content. I have not tested dup content on my own internal pages. So I can not comment on that.

- What are you using to host your MSN? Something like Hostgator Reseller Plan?
- Do you advise to use specifics TLD if you build MNSfor specific coutries? I mean using .fr instead of .com for a french MNS?

Very informative post. So the .info domains were really that bad? Did they ever get close to catching up with the other domains with the same keywords?

I concur, dupe content on internal pages is another thing. If you don't assign canonical values to your web pages Google will have a hard time ranking them. If there is dupe content among internal pages (like categories having full sized posts and tags showing full posts) as long as some of them are marked canonical, it should be ranked. One of my product review sites has a theme that doesn't show excerpts for tags and categories so there is repeating content throughout the theme. I'm not going to bother changing it since it works fine.

Could you define "few articles", "few manual blog comments" and "small xrumer blast", please?

Do you keep on adding backlinks and articles for that site after you pass onto your next project or is it set & forget?

Hi guys
A tool you can use to find if the exact match domains are available and or parked is "ajaxwhois" you can enter your keyword and it will tell you if the domain is taken, if the domian comes up as taken, there a button below the field "go to website" and by doing that you can see if they are parked or a content site.

Say I really liked a certain theme, like Frugal or Thesis, or some MFA template; what would happen if I used the exact same setup for all my sites? Obviously I would change the color scheme and pictures, but would the code leave a big footprint and hurt me somehow?
 
I have made some of the micro niche sites and i am ranking well though now.
 
Thanks for this great posting. Another great post I found on BHW. I am new in micro niche things and now try to find a good micro niche for my blogs. Your information really burn my spirit, hehe.... And oh yes, finding niche is an exciting activities for me..

It's hard to give a specific answer here. IT depends on how competitive the niche is. On the lowest end I only do one article to about 10 different directories that always register and stay registered as backlinks for me.

I know of a few blogs that really seem to get the job done. I usually shoot for about 20-30 manual blog post comments.

After doing both of those I wait about a month and see what happens. If I still need a little jump I will find somone to do a Xrumer blast for me. Nothing crazy, but enough to give me a little boost. Try not to do everything at once. Space out your initial backlinking and any xrumer or scrapebox blasts.

I was wondering how long it would take for this question. Lol. Since July (I really started hitting it hard in June) I have made a minimum of $2500 in a month and as much as $5500 in a month. I know it's nothing crazy, but I have targeted smaller niches that may not pay as much per click. That is a total income spread out over adsense, amazon, clickbank and various CPA networks.

Say I really liked a certain theme, like Frugal or Thesis, or some MFA template; what would happen if I used the exact same setup for all my sites? Obviously I would change the color scheme and pictures, but would the code leave a big footprint and hurt me somehow?

I use about 6 different themes. Mainly because they look and feel different depending on the niche. I have seen discussion on BHW that talks about people getting sandboxed because all of their themes were the same. This could be true, but I have about 40 sites with the same theme, and I have had no problems. I am not saying that I never will, but so far so good.

To answer your question directly, what I meant was... The content of my articles do not have anything to do with my keyword or niche. They are about different topics, but have my links in the bottom.

Ok I was not going to share this info but oh well here goes nothing.

I see so many people out there that like to submit articles that are based on their niche. I next to never do this. I actually use a method that I found on BHW where you write articles that review CB products and submit them to certain directories that allow affiliate links.

So I review a CB product, submit to directories that allow me to have a link in body. And I add my sites in the sig. I also submit to a few directories that don't allow a link in body. On those sites I don't worry about the CB commission, I Just use those for backlinks to my sites. Like Ezines for example. I know those backlinks are valuable, but I am not going to put any affiliate link anywhere near it.

So what I am doing here is writing articles that are effectively making me some CB money (not a lot, but enough to justify) and building me backlinks.

I have a secret weapon too... My wife writes my articles, so I kinda lucked out there. But there is no reason you can't outsource your article/review writing.
