Miami - A Little Local Knowledge Please

I'm going to be in Miami Florida in a few weeks for some business and could use a little help please.

First few days will be in Coral Gables... the balance up at the airport but could use some South Beach Info as well.

Would like some info on upscale restaurants/clubs/bars in those areas from some locals please... I lived in Kendall back int he 80's so I have ZERO current information so any advice would be appreciated.

Taking a great friend with me and flying in one of the most trusted persons in my life so I want to make sure both have a great time.

Hit up the Affillion guys, they both live there and I'm sure they could give you a heads up on the best places to go!

If I remember correctly, Hollywood beach is the beach to go.

Greg I hate you.
I spent a week in south beach with an Israeli ballet dancer. Oh! the memories.
Now they won't let me back in the US.

In fact I hate you so much I'm going to send you socks for Christmas for the next 100 years.

I live there most of the year hit me up via pm so you can tell me more of the scene you are looking for and what kind of $$$ you expect to spend. Liv and Mansion are great night clubs if you like house music. the beach is great during the day, if you head to bayfront you can go on a cool speed boat tour, lincoln road for shopping during the day, if your hanging out in the gables you have a few options as well. There is a ritz carlton there and some great bars for the UM students.

I hope you're not going during the urban weekend thing going on. If you are bring a gun. Last year was bad. There's a lot of great night clubs on south beach just depends on what type of club you want to go to. I would suggest having some attractive lady friends with you to make entry easier.

One of my favorite things to do in South Beach is to go for lunch at News Cafe on Ocean Drive. It is one of the best people watching spots in the world and you can then stroll over to Lincoln Road for shopping.To me this is the quintessential South Beach experience.
