Thousands of Facebook employees and wouldn't at least one of them visit BHW? Whenever something like this gets posted they're only asking for the network to fix the workaround.

The concept still works. The code in the OP still works. However, no one will tell you exactly how to protect yourself against FB spam-filters, that is something you should all figure out yourselves. So stop bitching and saying it doesn't work and start doing some testing. And for God's sake, all CPA network URL-s are already banned on FB, so you can't redirect directly to the affiliate link in the code; use another layer in-between and buy a clean domain name, which redirects to your affiliate URL.

You put the code on the root directory of your server. To create the file, simply create a new text document on your PC, upload it to your server and then rename it on the server as: ".htaccess" (w.o quotes obviously). The reason we are renaming the file on the server is because Windows won't allow you to create files with a blank name (note that the file does not have a name, it only has the extension .htaccess). Then edit the file and paste the code there.
You can do a lot of things using .htaccess, try spending some time on Google to research more about it and if you have any problems writing code to it (it can be a real pain in the ass), just hire someone on Fiverr to do it for you. But for simple things such as 301 redirects, you can find working codes on Google.

Ok so this still works but I have a few Qs:
Haven't got my own custom image (self hosted) to work correctly, yet it does when using an imgur image url???
- does this mean I need a cdn and if so is there a free option (No idea what free/paid plan i'd need but drive about 1k users through fb per day)
Which url (image url/displayed url/destination url) is likely to see ban? (just before it's asked, I have layers between fb and final landing page)
- presuming the url destination?

Made me laugh mate. Thanks for the mention. The title caught my eye with the "ninja" part.This is a REALLY cool method/tip you shared and it works incredibly well too.
I saw that a few people said they still were not 100% sure how to do this and someone asked if there is a video tut for it. Well, there is now, I made one for BHW
The method that the OP shared in the first post still works perfectly as you'll see in this video

Is it the shortened URL that is showing as blocked, the URL that you have shortened or the final destination URL where the person will end up at that is showing up as blocked?

yourdomain.com/index2/ that's what i shortened, and it's blocked either way. it's a fresh domain, so fb auto-banned when the crawler saw the afflinks on the landing page?

Hmmm, it could be the domain that you're using as the preview that is blocked?
PM me the code that you're using and the URL of where you have uploaded the file to which has the script and I'll take a look.
