This is a really informative technique. I am just curious on the penalties that may occur from doing this. Surely, Google could see through this method by now! I understand exactly how it works, and I've done it on a couple sites, but I would imagine that google will catch on.
 
I think this is completely against google tos... and this will get your site de-indexed ASA google find it

I don't really think so that it's against Google,Google is not against the SEO,One should now how to use these methods and if someone has a new domain then he should definitely be careful but everyone should drip the links,Dripping sysem is very much effective today and it works a lot and it's working fine for my new domains as well.

It still works. I use that whenever I can and it works 90% of the time.

you can also make one way back link for your site to improve the keyword ranking in search engine. lots of way to create a one way link like that directory submission, articles submission, blog submission and commenting and classified submission many more work to do for making one way link for your site.
