[Method] STEP by STEP On page SEO optimization for newbies

Hi imnre, thanks for the great post.

I have a question since I started to play with this SEO thing and I hope you can clear that for me.

For example I'll use a wp site that I run. It is a MNS where I started targeting 3 kw. So I have written about 4 unique articles and started the site uploading one (with my main kw) article to it.

Then I just started some backlinking to it and through time I have uploaded the other 3 articles. My question is, how's the backlinking structure should be? In this example let's forget that directly backlinking it's bad to my money site, I would like to understand the whole thing in general for now.

I was doing directly backlinking to my homepage with my main keyword, and this helped me a lot since it pushed me to #7. Now I'm there forever, I think I need more than just SB to go on (obvious). Now for the other keywords, should I backling inner pages with their respective keywords and that's all? Or do I have to backlink my homepage with 2nd and 3rd keyword too?

It's is this what makes me all confuse about it. Because my main KW will rank with my homepage (domain) and the others with his inner pages, correct?

Make your links natural.

Make them come from various source... i.e edu links, gov. links, web 2.0 links, profiles links, social bookmarking links, authority links, home page links, twitter/fb links, etc. etc.

The more sources you use the better.

Also mix up the keywords... if you was getting natural links they would not all be of the same keyword, there for use like 10 keywords when building backlinks not just the same keyword.

Same thing goes for the other pages.

Great share. I recommend that everyone who has an interest save this as a .doc file so that you can access it later in the event that it is moved to Jr. VIP or off the site.

Thanks for such an amazing guide but ..After i made these changes in my MNS i lost my rank i was #2 for my keyword today i'm in #6 for that keyword
 
It really refreshes the mind... Its like removing the dust from your brain.... I am doing the same from past one year.. but really love to read this share..... Great one man....
 
do you think its OK to make those optimization on your wordpress content after the recent updates with Google?

I wouldn't use some parts of this post in today's climate. With the over-optimzation penalty rollout, you could get into a bind.

If you follow my guide, you will end up on 1 - 1.5% density - I dont think that is over-optimization.

I would say over optimization is 3-5% +





Use your keyword no more than 1-2 time for every 100 words and you will be fine.

I am almost never above 1.5 % density and I have never had any problems.
 
Thanks for the visual explanation. This really helps me a lot. If I may ask a question, why keywords in the content should be in bold, underline, italics? does it make a different from let say 'naked' keywords?
