ROTFLMAO!
I was planning to show off the fancy search skills I learned here to a friend.
I put in
Inurl:"doctor who"
Google gave me porn sites and one that featured anal sex.
My friend started laughing
Trying to regain my dignity and stop the laughter, I hit "show omitted results" hoping to see Doctor Who links.
Got MORE porn sites.
My friends was laughing hysterically (he says laughing with me, not at me, but I am skeptical)
I came here, looked up thread.
friend still laughing
Figured out what I had done wrong and explained the typo
friend still laughing
Entered inurl:"doctor who"
Found Doctor Who links and photos
Friend still laughing.

WoW

your right, the small i and big I makes a big difference.

What is a good number when we search intitle + inurl combined, again 10k?

the lower the figure the easier it will be for you to rank :O

Any ways, 10K is fine bro!

Thanks this was a very helpful post

It makes keyword research a lot more understandable

Hi,

I would like to know if this would be considered a good keyword.

Based on my findings:

It seems I have a few factors to determine the success of this keyword which are:

1) Search Volume
2) Competitiveness
3) Backlinks (Using TT, what do I analyze to make sure I have a good keyword? How many backlinks should I expect from other sites?)
4) Domains relevant to the keyword

Attached is the picture of the search result. If someone could analyze this picture that would be great. Thanks!

Its fine :)

All depends on the volume of traffic if its over 5K then go for it.

You might want to change the name of the image ;)

Thank You I will be more aware of what I put as my name of attachment in the future :)

In terms of search volume: You look for the local or global monthly searches? Also, do you mean if local or global monthly searches exceed 5k and that keyword is considered good?

Also, in terms of relevancy of the domain: say the keyword is charlie sheen and the domain name is http://www.charliesheeniscrazy.com is that still relevant or can you put http://www.charlie-sheen.com?

Hi....

5K either locally or global.

I dont always look for 5K ... but 120K competition is quite alot....

I dont mind going after a keyword that has like 1K exact search, but then I want the competition to be in the low 5K - 20K region max.

Any ways, its all about getting a feel for it. So take action and get the feel for it ;)

No pun intended!

P.s both those domains would be fine because they have the mian keyword in it (Charlie sheen)

nice, I have two blogs up since 06 and I plan to actually work on seo with them. I made nearly 7.00 today with adsense and I haven't built backlinks. I just started posting again. Hopefully I can get to 100/day. That would be nice. Great images.

would you use exact or broad searches to pick KW, i am getting extremly low numbers on exact searches even on popular kw.

Always look at exact match!

would that mean if i rank no.1 on that KW only the 'exact' number will see it or will it show up in other searches as well.

also my niche is very small as its a business and i want to target only local people, i have got 12 KW but they only have 30 exact searches each per month. do you think it makes sense to do seo on it and buy backlinks.
