[Method] How to setup automated Tumblr Blogs

I have the same issue. I followed every single step carefully, yet it queues my own profile pic of tumblr instead of the big photo from the feed.. How to solve this?

I got this problem too, that's 3 of us now ...any idea why ?

EDIT: sorry dude, I see you have already answered this and we just need to be patient , all good man, thanks for the info...really hope this works :)

UPDATE: so I left this running overnight on a few blogs but it totally failed, on one blog it just kept posting the same random photo (like 200 times) and on another it was just posting my tumblr logo

great method :) Going to setup my blog today, hope it will not get my account ban.

Hy CazuaL, thanks for your great tip, this is great method!

Just started, could you please verify, I have created a sample for you to verify, is this all correct? Screenshot - Untitled.png

In photo url you added your blog link and deleted {{EntryImage*****} so it will allways post only the profile picture, delete the link and add the original {{EntryImage*****}

Good spot, didn't notice it myself

Something isn't right, my tumblr blog doesn't post any new images or articles? I set it up like in the screenshot above, whats wrong?

I think this is the mistake I have made too, I will re-try this at some point but I have found a very handy chrome plug in for tumblr and it works good, basically you can go on the /archive page of any blog and quickly queue up whatever you like ....and I lke the control over content, it is very quick to use

I cant post the link because I am new but search for "archive-poster"

hope thats useful for people :)

This is great, but if you want a way to make sure you're posting quality content, you can simply use the reblog from dash/add to queue features from most bots. You just have to follow 10-15 good people on Tumblr when you set up the account and you're gold. Or just use an image ripper and rip 1000-2000 images and upload from those.

It's not completely hands off though, as you need to hit the upload to queue button once a day or every so often...

Another good way is to use tumblr tagged feeds. If this post is about using imgur feeds, it should be able to be adjusted to work with them

http://blogname.tumblr.com/tagged/keyword/rss

or something like that

As I mentioned in my original post, it's as serious as you make it. Any automation process generally lacks quality unless you have hand picked the images, tags, descriptions etc..
I liked to expand on your comment also, there is a site called Queue+. Basically ads a Q button at the bottom of images, via the site you can setup a schedule. Just a case of scrolling through your Tumblr feed and picking the ones you like. Much better if you want to create a more professional blog, exactly what this method lacks as it blogs any and everything that is in the RSS feed

I will look at Q too thanks for the tip

sounds good

I liked the tagged feed idea too , would probably send that to drafts though for a bit more content control

this fixed it for me, but now it doesn't have the click through link as my blog...

Tumblr doesn't care about blogs per IP (as far as I know) I currently have 10-15 blogs on one IP. Providing you say within their TOS there is no reason for them to ban you.
Obviously if you plan to spam it would be best to create 2-3 accounts per IP

CazuaL

All of those 10-15 blogs under 1 account?

Also has anyone found a solution that can grab pinterest feeds and not only post the new posts, but the old ones too?

I used a program called "rip me" (from github) to rip hundreds of images from an imgur rss feed and then I moved them all into dropbox folder where ifttt then added them to my tumblr queue. Don't know if it'll work for pinterest feed but you could try ?

Awesome Method, Thanks for sharing OP.
