Hi BHters!
Today is my birthday and decided to publish another uncensored Facebook PPC case study
I noticed a few days back, when someone was selling a WSO with ad ideas and he didn't provide any screenshots from his FB Ad Manager. We are going to do this "The Right" way with full discloser.
For about a week in August, I was promoting a NFL Jersey offer in CPA network Advert Marketing (If you want in, PM me)
The offer was relatively successful, but I soon stopped promoting it, because advertiser wasn't satisfied with my traffic, even thou I really don't know how I could bring him better quality. You'll see why I say so in a minute.
Here is the offer:
Pay per lead: $1.6
Offervault says it only allows email traffic so I also posted a screenshot from the network. Facebook PPC is allowed!
Campaign planning:
I picked Dallas Cowboys, but this would work for any NFL team.
Ad Building
Title: Are You A Cowboys Fan?
Image: Just pick a logo or something similar that represents the NFL team well.
Body: Click here and get your NFL Jersey!
Landing page: I iframed some NFL web store and changed the link to my affiliate link after my ad was approved.
Code used for iframing was shared before by coolkid123.

Ad Targeting
Country: US
Age: 36 - 49
Gender: Male
Interests (keyword): "dallas cowboys"
The reason I targeted the way I did, is because Quantcast gave me that data. As you can see, Dallas Cowboys home page is mainly visited by male under 18 and 35-49. I didn't target underage boys, because advertiser doesn't want that audience.
The interesting fact is that DC fans are quite wealthy based on Quantcast data. I still don't understand why advertiser wouldn't want such traffic. IMO, I couldn't do it any better on FB. He was probably too greedy or he wanted only visitors from search PPC but in that case, he should forbid using Facebook.
Bidding
I always place my bid over the suggested bid when doing CPC. But only till I get 3-4 clicks. Then I already have a good idea what CTR is going to be and I lower the bid to the point I am still getting enough traffic.
Summary
I paid for ads $141.30
Earnings from CPA offer: $307.20
Profit: $165.9
RPC is still high because this is average RPC. Last 2 days it dropped significantly and it reached my CPC on FB. Then I stopped my ads.
That's it. Don't share this outside of BHW!
Cheers!
