Thanks for sharing. It's a good twist since interested people would always claim a "free product". Asking for a shipment fee would be reasonable since that's what free trial products also do.
The difference that I see here is that, the item is offered FREE, just to hook them up on your email list. Trial products are also FREE but would automatically deduct on a monthly basis if the customer doesn't unsubscribe. But here, you're only getting their email.
I think fb bot messenger would also be good on this one since most people are regularly checking fb than emails. Not sure.
But for those customers who opted in and decide to claim and pay for the shipping fees, you could just send another message about a new free product or a related item at a discounted price(saying that it's "exclusively discounted" for them because they are a previous customer).
My idea is to even show them two different links on that message: one, that indicates "this is your discounted link" with countdown time for validity - that routes to a discounted price item from your website. And the 2nd link which says, "you may also check the item here at its original price" which also routes to the website with the higher price. Or a custom promo code would also do this.
Another funnel is to let that person know that if he can refer two other people to GET the 1st free product, he can "automatically get" the 2nd product for FREE(now on a much lesser price compared to the discounted one - saying that it's for shipping fees only).
Anyways, I'm so interested in diving with dropshipping but tbh I haven't started yet. Ideas keeps popping out on my head with the help of these guides, but I'm not just that confident yet that my knowledge is enough to dip my toes in. I just really wanted to know the backbone and actual steps before starting, which I haven't found yet.
Cheers
@GringoMonkey and thank you for this guide.
