I'm going to give it a try soon!
I thought that aswell, but i re-read it.I don't know about the KD 70 it's kind of hard to rank especially for fresh domain and beginner bloggers and compete as I can see high ranked sites on the first page mostly DA 60 above very related with those keywords
Thanks. Glad you found it helpful.@Rufai thankyou so much, so short so simple and yet I now understand better and learned allot more than what I did when I read a 80page e-book explaining the exact same thing.
Please start a "Let me Neeeeewbie that For You" thread for people like me. Pleeeease!![]()
A great and simple keyword research strategy. Thanks for sharing.Following my keyword research report giveaway, I got asked about the process I use to find the best keywords. So I thought it will be best to share it with the forum.
I use SEMRush but you can use any other keyword research tools such as AHRefs, KWfinder, etc.
Sidenote: If you don’t have SEMRush account, BHW has a partnership with SEMRush and you can get a free 30-day trial that way instead of a 14-day trial. So be sure to check it out.
Step 1: Visit SEMRush and Navigate to Keyword Magic Tool
Step 2: Enter your target keyword in the search box. This should be a very broad keyword as we are going to narrow it down to find the best keywords.

I’m going to use Blender for the purpose of this tutorial. So I’ll type blender in the search box and hit enter
Step 3: Now click on the “Phrase Match” option to ensure we only get keywords around blender

Step 4: Next, we are going to add some word filters so we can get keywords that includes the words people are searching for.
Now click on “Include Keywords” and choose of these keywords, then copy and paste the keywords and hit “Apply”
These are mostly the words people use when searching for information about something.
- are
- can
- do
- is
- how
- which
- why
- will
- vs
- does
- should
- what
- where
- when
- best

Step 5 (optional): You can also set it to display only keywords with a minimum word count of 4 words.
To do this, click on Advanced Filters > Word count > from > 4 and hit apply

Step 6: Now we need to filter the keyword difficulty. I mostly go with 0-70 KD because the metric is usually not accurate. The best way I found to check for keyword difficulty is to check the SERPs.
So Click on KD and enter 70 in the “from” field and click apply

Step 7: Next I like to sort the volume from Highest to lowest and KD from Lowest to highest.
To do that, click on the “Vol” twice and “KD” twice.

Now download the keywords to CSV. After that, you go through the keywords and mark the ones you are to use.
Final Step: If your keyword has a singular and plural, you should also do research for the plural version.
Now we go back and replace “blender” with “blenders”.
The filters will still be there, so you just download the keywords and that’s it.
That’s it guys.
Here are the keywords we got

I’ve also shared another keyword research tutorial on how to find easy to rank low competition keywords. Don’t forget to check it out too.
Yeah it's totally worth it and will mostly generate way more traffic because you'll also rank for other variations of the keyword.will writing on a keyword that has 50 traffic volume and 2% keyword difficulty worth it, i always skip those and look for one that has up to 1,000+ traffic volume and below 20% keyword difficulty.
I don't know about the KD 70 it's kind of hard to rank especially for fresh domain and beginner bloggers and compete as I can see high ranked sites on the first page mostly DA 60 above very related with those keywords
Yeah the KD metric is not always accurate, so checking the SERPs will help you determine whether the keyword will be easy to rank or not.I thought that aswell, but i re-read it.
His range for choosing keywords is from 0 to 70 Keyword difficulty.
But
He is checking serps for these keywords aswell individualy. He is not blindly using ahrefs as the only difficulty checker.
Ahrefs difficulty is a lie most of the time. Serp checking is a must.
how would you analyze check the serps to be able to tell KD?Yeah the KD metric is not always accurate, so checking the SERPs will help you determine whether the keyword will be easy to rank or not.
