[Method] Free (partial) web design

I'll keep this simple. This is if you are new to web design and need something tricky done.

1. Put out a job for 'unemployed freelance web designer/developer/coder'. You can even be specific, and say flash designer for example.
Wait for emails to build up.

2. Reply to 3/4 with a response similar to 'thanks for application, instead of doing interviews we ask people to take a quick test to show their skills'. Then put want you want done as the test. Also tell them to briefly describe the method so you can learn.
Out of 3/4 one will definitely answer, and there's usually more.

3. Rinse and repeat. This is optional, you can tell them there's another test.

4. Tell them they passed and give them an assignment. If they send you the completed work either pay them or don't.

This is a tried and tested method. I've used it for lots of stuff. I even constantly have 10-15 fresh unemployed developers on an email account to call upon when I need something.:D

Have you tried this kemetian? I doubt people would be willing to do something worth more than 10 minutes or so for free. And then, anything that minor could easily be learned by a simple google search imo.
 
and agree'ing to pay someone or offering them a job with no intentinos of employing them is an asshole tactic. buttt that's just my 2 cents. what comes around and all that.
 
So basically your simply wasting peoples time. You even used the words 'Rinse and repeat'! Some people such as myself put a lot of effort into completing websites for clients and to be told at the end of it all your not getting paid is a fucking windup.

Maybe I have misread your ideas here and got the wrong end of the stick but methods like this really frustrate me. I mean why the fuck would you do this lol?

Agree with the other replies here. If you hire someone and they do the job, they need to be paid. Black hat methods aren't about scamming or fraud, otherwise there wouldn't be a shit list where people name the scammers of the forum.

Also, this is an old method that has been shared in more detail before. You should find it if you look around.
 
I definitely don't think OP means for the "applicant" to create a whole website, but just fix a small amount of code that has been tricky to you. This method is kind of on the line between black hat and scamming though...
 
This "method" has been shared already. My question to the OP is, "How can someone be so proud of scamming honest people that he has to open a thread about it?"

EDIT: Just read OP more carefully. #4 is outright scamming.

Yes its kinda scam, but this is BHW!!!!!! And btw I have some principles, like if i say i will pay for something then i will. I just suggested that the user doesn't have to pay.

I think you guys missed the point about the job application and the test for the job being some code or something you need done. Yes #4 is pure scam but the rest isn't

And let me tell you one final fucking thing, if i had the money i would use it!! Do you think i resort to this for shits and giggles, for pride or anything else???

No. I do it because I need something done and I don't have the money. So it's easy to be high and mighty when you've got a wallet full of cash. I put up the method to show someone else with no $$ how to get shit done.

Fuck me.

most people who feel so 'hurt and appalled' by this method have probably just been burnt previously and are a little resentful.. And for those of you who think i get someone to make a whole fucking website then run away laughing you gotta re-read the post. At most I've got someone to spend 15 mins of their time on a 'recruitment test' to fix something in a flash file.

And i didn't kno a mod already came up with this method.

And when you said that it's probably just because we got burned and what not by it before... that's total bs. We do have some standards here at BHW and stealing/straight out scamming people out of their work is something we find to be total bullsh*t. Thanks.

thanks for speaking on behalf of the entire of BHW. What do you think you do to CPA companies everyday? What do you think you are doing with BH SEO? what do you think EVERY bh money making method is? grow a pair

It's all a scam man.

And it grinds me but i know for every 'my shit don't stink' kinda member who feels that they must reply to such a grand injustice i create, there's prob some one who used this method.

Chill out guys. i get a graphic for free. someone somewhere loses 15 mins. i'm not charles manson...
 
As a web developer I have to say, any designer/developer who falls for this deserves to be scammed. I have a portfolio and many references, so the day someone asks me to perform as "test", it better be the question/answer kind. :)

i think the thing that i dislike about this "method" is that it disillusions people and burns them out and in general leaves your reputation in a trailing puddle of piss. there is no need to do that especially since there are free logos all over the place.
