This is a method I discovered few weeks ago using reddit statistics.

How to find awesome niche ideas from redit?

1. First, head over to https://redditmetrics.com/history
There you have sub-reddit top lists for 1 day, 7 days and 30 days. Also you can find "New trending Reddits".
Choose your desired subreddit name and browse it. Usually the subreddits names are almost always free and you can buy the top level domain with the same name as the subreddit.

If you can't find the desired niche then you can check the history page https://redditmetrics.com/history
Where you can find historical subreddits since the start of reddit.com.

I found few adult niches that normal sane person would never think about it.

Also you have start up content for the niche by copying it from the sub-reddit.

I hope you'll find this useful :)
