I thought I would chime in on this.. I read this thread last night and thought it was a great way to approach new clients. I did some research.. spent about 2 hours if that doing it.. I have made about 15 calls.. and landed a client.
Now I am charging $1500 upfront or $2500 once we are able to get rankings. A bit more then what the OP was charging.. but IMO it does not matter the cost is if you are offering something that someone needs.. they will pay.
Lower price points do not mean you will get a sale.. just bear that in mind.
I run a few offline services where I am from and I am happy to do the work upfront for more if the client is happy to do so as I know I can send them off to the debt collectors if they do not pay, but to be honest that hardly ever happens.
The client I landed was a $1500 upfront fee.. not bad for a few hours of work.. and I will get my VA's to do the link building.. easy as.
Only have to do this ten times a month.. and its a good income stream. Get a VA to conduct all the market research and you make the calls.. Eventually you know what will work and what will not work and then you can hire and train telesales staff.. not a bad little model.
another quick update.. landed another client.. worth $2500... just over the phone.. def does work
I am putting more work into my presentation at the moment.. which adds to the credibility of the service... hence the higher price tag as well.
This...is SO damn awesome.another quick update.. landed another client.. worth $2500... just over the phone.. def does work
