[Method] Amazon to eBay Drop-shipping Done Right! Spoon Fed! *Long/Detailed*

Thanks OP! :)

Also OP, if i were to use debit card to purchase from amazon, i think it will take like 3 days before i can purchase that item for my customer because, if i received the payment via paypal from ebay and then paypal will transfer the money to my debit card( which take like 3-4days) then i will then purchase the item then it will take 5-6 days to deliver the item right because of the shipping days.

Yes, this has been an issue. At first, I did not offer 2 day shipping for this reason. It does help if you have some money in your bank account with your debit card to avoid having to wait so long. To get around this, I ended up asking for a Paypal Debit Card. It was very easy to get although I'm not sure what the requirements are. Now, I just use it to purchase with Amazon and all the funds are dealt with in Amazon.

I have heard that people will use a credit card to purchase items on Amazon and then when the payment is due, they pay once they have all the funds transferred to their bank account.

So normal debit card will not do huh... :( So the only way is to have some capital first in your card. Unless the customer is willing to wait a week or more for them to receive their item. :( I dont really know anything about paypal debit card, I cant get paypal debit card because im outside US right? there will be no waiting to transfer your funds to your card if i use paypal debit card?

About how much time per day do you dedicate to your current ebay business using this method?

I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I make around $2k per month and I only spend 30 min to 1 hour per day on this. Some days I spend an extra hour listing some new items.

First of all, lewy2k, thank you for this great detailed guide.
I'm looking to get into this dropshipping business for some time and this guide helped me a lot.
I understand everything but I still have some few questions if you don't mind answering.

1. You said you have around 150 items listed now. Are those products all from the same niche(or same category) or all sort of different products?
2. What is the some average price of those 150 items on Amazon? Do you do better with some cheaper products or some more expensive ones?
3. If you use PRIME, does that mean that you get FREE shipping on all products where you can see PRIME logo under? So that means you don't need
to look for just products that are over $35 on Amazon to get free shipping, right?
4. In case something is wrong with the product, can customer choose if he want to return his product and request a new one or to get a refund?
And does buyer always pay for returning product even if something is wrong with the product?
5. In your 2 years of doing this, did you have many issues of returning or refunding the products?

Hope you can answer me this.
Thanks in advance.

Good luck in the future!

So I saw somewhere in here that there are 0 upfront costs, but how did/do you get around the ebay and paypal holding periods on the funds you receive from a sale on ebay? Interested in your answer because this is what has held me back when using this method.

Only way I see is if you have a credit card for the Amazon purchase. Then payment on the balance due is closer to the release of funds from Paypal. Otherwise, you have to have a "float" of initial cash via a debit card or a gift card.

Also, technically, you do have to carry the cost of listings, particularly as you go through a trial and error period to find the ones that do sell.

Just wondering when you have the item shipped to you prior to the buyer, doesnt shipping time become a problem? Also, ebay requires the tracking # to be posted within 24hrs for TRS, so are you getting around this some how?

What I do (and I did this for a long time) was I would find out what products were selling the best. Once I was able to start making sales on the products I would buy a boatload of the same exact product from amazon and have it shipped to my apartment. From there I would store them in my closet this way if someone buys from me on ebay I don't run into the risk that A: the product is sold out on amazon. B: I can easily take a trip to the post office down the street and sent the buyer their tracking info within 24 hours or less. Finally C: Print the ebay shipping label and put it in the box with the product before I seal it and send it.

Yes the method I just described takes a lot more work and you would thereby be paying a shipping cost but as I said in a different reply that is why I look for products that are hot buys that people are always buying that cost more money so I can get more money in profit back and ensure that my shipping costs come back to me.

What about the tax man your going to need to pay taxes on those 20,000$ no ? After taxes you would probably be making a loss.

^^ I saw that you said you pay taxes, but I was wondering how? Do you have a sales and use tax certificate and remit monthly/semi-annually sales tax? Or rather just paying federal wage taxes?

I'm just confused as to what you'd file under. I'm guessing your a sole proprietor?

1. They are various categories. Electronics, toys & games, home appliances etc.
2. I do best in the $30-$50 price range
3. Correct, any item with a Prime logo is what I look for, price doesn't matter
4. This is in the original post, look under part 10 (isn't highlighted green sorry)
5. No issues, Amazon will accept anything in a return with no questions asked

I have had this eBay and Paypal account for 7 years. I had them from selling my own personal belongings and Paypal did not do 21 day holds when I first started. Plus I am Paypal verified which means I don't get "21 day holds" I've never experienced any hold from Paypal.

What about the tax man your going to need to pay taxes on those 20,000$ no ? After taxes you would probably be making a loss.

You must not be familiar with how tax works... With Paypal, 200 incoming payments or $20,000+ in payments means they send you a 1099 tax form. You don't pay taxes on the $20,000+, you pay tax on the PROFIT from all of these incoming transactions. There is no way to make a loss on profit from taxes. You should read some more on how tax works.

Yes I file as a personal small business owner, which is perfectly okay to do with eBay. I just followed the guidelines that many people have posted on the eBay community site.

Do you recommend using your personal Amazon account with this method? I already have Prime.

No, I don't. It will eventually get banned after a couple months. By banned, I don't mean completely banned, I just mean they will revoke your Prime membership. Just make another with a different email. No need for a proxy or anything like that.

Hello,
If I start to sell on Ebay with Personal account, is their any danger of ban later? Thanks

Thank you for this insightful post! This has helped me in a great way!
Do you recommend listing items individually as fixed priced listings or would it be better in the long run to sign up for an ebay store? The reason I ask is because after your 1st free 50 listings you get monthly on ebay you start incurring a 30 cent fee. However, with a store you can list more for free. What are your thoughts?

Hey, thanks for this!
I think it worth a shot :)

One question: eBay holds the sales revenue on PayPal for one month? Can I use the sales money to buy Amazon product or I need to invest some money first?

I have no idea what you mean about eBay holding sales revenue. All my sales money goes to Paypal and I use it to pay for the items. I have never had any of my funds held.

It depends how much you want to list. I do recommend you start an eBay store. Since I list a good amount of items at a time and relist many items, I pay $20 monthly for my store so that I get 150 free listings and only $0.20 after the 150. It works best for me.
