Meta Keywords, still useful for SEO?

The meta tags are more about presentation than ranking these days. It's how it's gonna show up on social media and maybe even serps.

But there's the thing, if your presentation brings better CTR, you probably will get ranked higher as well.

IMO, meta keywords are useless for SEO because it allows the competitors to see what keywords they're targeting.

Umm... if I can't see what keywords you are targeting then Google can't either. Kind of self defeating to hide that... plus if you are successful we can see you in the rankings for the keywords... that is a pretty big giveaway. Also rank trackers usually let you identify competitors to track across all of your keywords. And then there are the countless services that for $20 will tell us everything about your keywords, ads, budgets, rankings, traffic, and other sites you operate from either the same IP or the same marketing tracking codes.

just saying... :)
