now we all have meta ai in our whatsapp , ig and fb.
will meta overtake chatgpt? what are views on that

So that's why my nephew is including more in his reply WhatsApp messages to me! It used to be 1-2 word replies, but he's now sending 2-3 lines... is that why? Because AI is writing for him? :-O

I don't think meta AI will surpass ChatGPT because:
1. Meta AI is garbage. It's comparable to GPT 3.5
2. ChatGPT will always have the first mover's advantage and if ChatGPT continue working on new models, I don't think any generative AI tool will surpass it

chat gpt is not first mover. there were so many ai available on market but they werent famous.
but chat gpt is great and what they develop is mindblowing.
but meta has more resources then chatgpt.

Yeah, my bad. Well what I really wanted to say is that chatgpt started an AI revolution much like amazon or facebook. There were e-commerce sites before amazon and social media sites before facebook but facebook and amazon kinda started a revolution in their own spaces. I don't think any AI tool will surpass GPT anytime soon

Lol
These are toys.

What IBM does behind the scenes.
What some other companies do behind the scenes.

Who cares. This will cause mass collapse of economy in my opinion. You'll pay with bitcoin or you'll have to eat what they give you on stamps.
So better act now. :p

Spamming 1s and 0s illusions... before peopple spammed physical things like houses, other people, inventions. Now they excite themselves about figures on screens. It's the lowest humanity ever have been.

Maybe digital world is the most cursed stuff ever. It was used in every massive attack.

thinking carefully could be, just because it have access to more information and human interaction that can be used to train the AI while chat gpt not that much, I believe if meta set it as a goal they could get the most human interactions on their AI.

It's good that there is currently no monopoly. Which I think is it how it should be. It's healthy.

It's a type of war. These are modern military weapons. They take over the world with it. It will cause massive lay-offs and certain specialists will have 0 stuff to do. Might result in mass societal problems, just like any type of large scale military operation.

You don't have an impression that it is a conflict at all, but it is a conflict, but in digital space.
They're in conflict for your attention. Today it works differently than in the history. Now you have different measures and they're harder to see as we've never seen that.

They're not killing people, but they kill time of people and their attention.

Of course, it's competition. But let's say governments agree to lay down a law/rule and AI_A agrees to it - and becomes more popular. AI_B is going to think they better follow suit and do the same thing. Eventually, what happens is we have competition but within a safe zone.

This stuff can be built on a phone, so that vision is missing something.
You have papers for architecture of it and you can build one.
What if a mad person builds a micro-robot that will go around the streets and do lethal things.

How in the hell will you identify that person who built that robot.
Either everything will have to be controlled or we will end up in a scary place.
Watch some Black Mirror stuff. It's a prophetic visionary series.

I hope robotics / physical stuff will be more regulated cause if you combine 3d printers + custom evil AI, that's the end.

It will be a competitive race between meta and chatgpt. Lets see who will win.

You mean like one person creates Robocop?

Before Person A gets anywhere near being able to do that, larger companies will know about it.

Has a random person ever created a search engine bigger than Google from his bedroom and nobody ever knew about it?

It could have something installed on it. And then perform certain actions.
But terrorism isn't very apparent in many societies. It's prevalent in some societies.
For sure it's already heavily abused in warfare.

It's easier to execute evil operations with vision AI.

Mechanical bees is the concept. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RoboBee

If you add this double exponential growth to it, it kind of makes me think... no hope.

OpenAI/ChatGPT was unknown a few years back, I think other players will continue to enter the market and tech conferences are great places for them to debut their releases. My company uses azure openai which is the same engine for chatgpt. Curious to see how this industry looks in 5 years. Maybe it's meta ai vs chatgpt or another competitor. It's exciting to see and to look for ways to take advantage of it.

Openai decimates meta ai and Gemini, but as of 2024 august 11 anything can change but as of now it's topdog.

if meta dont get success with their ai then meta will buy chatgpt. ;)
they have done in past and they will do in future.
