I’ve been running a product for awhile now, reason being that I have been having ad account issues and have not gotten a proper test since everytime I run ads I either get restricted or have unforeseen issues in some way. 3 weeks ago, I started my ad campaign on a Saturday, and that day I got 5 sales before getting restricted same day. Last Saturday, I tested another campaign and got 3 sales, before getting restricted again same day. This time, I cannot escape the learning phase even though those two successful campaigns were ripping the first day I ran them. I refuse to believe I need to spend full budget for a week so that FB can learn who to target. Any suggestions?

First, you need to replace your account (GMT+10). Be cautious with Advantage+ campaigns, as they can quickly exhaust your monthly ad spend without generating leads.

Instead, run campaigns with manual settings, and make sure to create a detailed persona before setting up your targeting. This approach gives you more control over your spend and improves the chances of reaching the right audience.

Usually when you go to another camp it may not be as effective as the first camp. It's quite a matter of luck, but try to optimize the ad content.

Can you please PM me as im am curious about the FB ad setup for running crypto ads @alexdulev7

you might want to try switching up your creatives or even targeting smaller, more specific audiences to avoid triggering restrictions. And maybe test with lower budgets to stay under the radar while you figure it out.

try using smaller budgets and test with specific high-performing creatives or audiences to avoid triggering the learning phase and account restrictions. Keep tweaking and optimizing as you go!

It sounds like your ad restrictions may stem from Facebook’s strict policies or flagged activity on your campaigns. To improve stability and performance, ensure your ads comply with Facebook's guidelines, and consider warming up new or aged accounts with low daily spending before scaling. Test smaller, specific audiences and multiple ad creatives to avoid triggering restrictions. If issues persist, explore alternative platforms like TikTok or Google Ads for testing. Consistency in ad activity and careful targeting can help reduce restrictions and optimize campaign performance.

Do you have any idea of what persona to target in the crypto space?

Try narrowing your audience, refining your creatives and using smaller budgets to avoid hitting restrictions while still gathering valuable data quickly

Try optimizing your targeting and creatives to avoid triggering restrictions, and consider using smaller budgets with quick adjustments to avoid the learning phase dragging on.

The main problem with blocking and because of that the algorithms just can't tune in to your audience because the ads are blocked and that's it.

Try to make your ads less “blackhat”

Try smaller budgets and reset for a day or two to avoid triggering restrictions.

try an aged fb bm and account with good spending history. Also do you run ads with cloaker and what vertical you advertise?

You're triggering Facebook's trust systems by scaling too fast on fresh setups. Start slow with low budgets, use aged pixels or accounts if possible, let the campaign run steady for a few days before pushing spend.

Hi @nolson23,

Totally understand your frustration — running into restrictions during the learning phase can kill momentum, especially when the campaigns are actually converting early on.

Here are a few suggestions based on what’s worked for me and others in similar situations:
  1. Warm Up Strategy: Instead of launching on a weekend (which often spikes traffic + triggers flags), try running low daily budgets Monday to Wednesday to "warm" your ad account with safe creatives and minimal copy. Facebook tends to be more lenient mid-week.
  2. Avoid Sudden Scale: Sudden spikes in performance (like 5 sales within hours of launching) can sometimes look unnatural to FB's system, especially with new accounts. Gradual scale = longer survival.
  3. Creative Duplication Technique: Duplicate your best-performing ad set, but slightly modify the image/text to avoid getting flagged as repetitive or "spammy."
  4. Use Verified Aged Accounts: If your ad accounts are getting flagged instantly, even with compliant content, consider testing on aged or warmed-up accounts with verified payment profiles. That alone can bypass the early restriction filters.
  5. Payment Method Matters: Avoid cards that are often used across blackhat campaigns (like VCCs or low-trust BINs). Use high-trust, consistent billing info if possible.
Let me know if you'd like some resources/tools for safer account setup or ad cloaking options. I'm in the process of optimizing our system for this exact issue and am happy to share what’s working.

Hope this helps — good luck and keep testing!

Cheers,
Shay Nguyen
